America leads the world in a lot of areas... For example America has the largest GDP making us the world's largest market. America has the largest gold reserves... Obviously to get there America is one of the world's largest energy consumers (number 2). Thus America needs to produce a lot of energy. America is the largest producer of petroleum and natural gas. We don't have the largest reserves in the world, but we have enough at current demand levels for the next 400 years if we were protectionists... America has the largest coal reserves as well but we are not currently the largest producer. That energy source is saved for a later era of dominance. We have the world's most powerful navy to protect our trade routes and obviously the world's most dominate military. America is the hardest nation to successfully invade due to our geographic position and second amendment rights. America is granted the most patents per year, thus is the leading global innovator. America leads human progress. America generally is considered the leading industrial base of the world. While China edges us out by two percentage point for total global manufacturing, they are on lower quality less important products. America can easily shift manufacturing away from China as well given that China's manufacturing has a lot to do with us outsourcing certain sectors that can easily be recovered. America has excellent freshwater reserves, arable land and range land. Being close to the top in both gives us a unique advantage. While we are not the current largest producer of food being that we don't have the population to warrant it, we could be. America is the largest food exporter. We help to feed the world. We don't have the most natural resources yet... That typically goes to the country with the largest landmass (Russia), but if Canada ever joins us, we'd move to the top. The invitation has been open for a while. Canada has raw resources and we have the capital and know how to develop them. There are many many ways America leads the world...

The United States isn't even number 1 in military strength lol. They are probably number 1 in military spending, but not in actual strength. I think China is number 1 with Russia being 2nd or 3rd.

The US is number 1 as far as taxes go. There isn't another country that taxes it's society as much as the US government, and we still have one of, if not THE highest debt in all of the world lol. The US is also number 1 in the amount of guns and weapons owned. No other country even comes close to the amount of firearms people own, or buy.

It's number one, overall. Among the highest in several categories, although not the highest in any (anymore). The country has seen better days, but it's still better than living in Canada or Australia with their (more) oppressive governments and higher cost of living.

Yes, the US is FAR from perfect, especially nowadays, but name me one country that's better than it. Assuming you can, it'd probably be some socialist hellhole like Sweden or something, which wouldn't be better by a long shot, and is homogenous and only has a fraction of the freedoms the US has.

Ironically, too much freedom is what's caused so much division in the US, in the first place. Other countries don't have this issue because they're forced to think the same way, believe in the same politics, elect the same leaders (usually left-leaning) and so on. Like most of Europe.

Because as seen from an outsider perspective yeah the US isn't #1 in anything barely even military.
But it still beats living in a concentration camp in china or wearing a burka in Iran or any other place in the world.
