How do I stop the wage gap?

I think women should be paid fairly.

Well, it's good that you think that, and I have good news: generally, women ARE paid fairly. Working simpler, easier, and safer jobs generally pays less, as does working more convenient shifts and less overtime. Those are the roles and work patterns that women tend to take; they usually prioritize work/life balance over making more money.

Only by forcing them to do otherwise can you make them *earn* the same money men do (a woman might choose to do more and earn more, but women won't), and that will end up making them miserable.

Bombard your congress people, state senators, and Governors with letters, and phone calls about wage gaps, until they cave and bring up new legislation about it in their respective held offices. Also get your friends, family, strangers who believe the same thing to also call, and write to them.

They hear the media complaints all the time, but people in the government usually don't do anything until they start getting angry phone calls, and letters to their offices. You can't get in trouble for it. The purpose of their held office is to listen to the people, and bring up the most important issues to the entire government body. When something is viewed as a need in our society, or as extremely important, we should all write and bug the hell out of our politicians. Make them actually do some work!!

In the majority they are, obviously depends on the country.

however two people doing exactly the same job are paid the same rate.

a lot of work over last x years has removed a lot of the inequality from certain jobs.

yes you will have different wage rates for different jobs.

An It Administrator is paid at a different rate to a security technician.
