Why are there only 2 political options in the US?

Because the US bipartisan system is deeply flawed, and now overly bent towards supporting the oligarchy within America.

It's a false dichotomy made into law to make it easier to fuck over the middle and working classes, in order to further exploit them.

America needs a reform badly. The US honestly needs a strong socialist party.

There were more than two candidates in the 2020 presidential election, but the vast majority of voters cast votes for Video or Trump and ignored the others.
None of the other candidates received sufficient votes to even remotely trouble the electoral college.

Because of the structure of elections- we have single member districts, so a winner/ loser will be the end result.
In multi-member districts, and proportional representation multiple parties have a chance of getting their people in office, even if they don't get the most votes.

No there are many different parties but there are so unpopular that if you try to join them and become President through them the road is extremely hard. Trump tried but changed and chose the party he wanted to be associated with.

It’s like music. There many songs and artists, but only a few top 10 artist get the bulk of popularity because more people like them.

It was really not by design. There are other political parties. The Whig party was big in the 1800s. We have a Green party and a Libertarian party as well. People can also vote for an independent candidate too. George Wallace got 14% of the popular vote in the 60s and Ross Perot won 19% of the popular vote running as Independents.
