Because the situation in Seattle is irrelevant... Like barking dogs. However if they stop paying their taxes or start violating the law, then there's going to be an issue. And if they start arming themselves, then the tanks come in. Just like what happened in September 1957 in Little Rock when the people there deliberately violated federal court orders that they are required to follow. The purpose of the president is to make sure the constitutional laws are followed that's why it's called the executive branch.

The desire by the right to overturn democracy in the US is kind of a big deal, though.

But anyway the idea that a government consisting of tens of thousands of people can only focus on one task at a time is a fallacy perpetuated entirely by those who want the government to accomplish nothing - all one then has to do is keep shuffling the priority to whatever isn't being talked about and viola. Indeed, the problem with gas and inflation seems to be the fact that republicans want to prevent anything from being done. Nevermind the republicans' long history of 100% taking any action that maximizes profits for oil companies, it is also the case they have not come up with a single solution and have instead voted against/filibustered every solution the democrats have come up with, without remark by the right wing disinfotainment machine.

It is almost like gas companies are keeping prices high on purpose so republicans take back power and give them moar tax cuts. And it will probably work, too, because people are super reluctant to focus on what republicans actually do and instead get distracted by the vast network of right wing infotainment that convinces them that divisive grievance culture b. s. is all that matters - not having solid clear plans.

As for Ukraine there isn't a whole lot we can do. Thanks to right wing disinformation forcing people to focus on fake grievances instead of real life, we are too divided to unite behind a real war for the sake of democracy like we did in WWII. War is sacrafice whether you are on the front lines or not. Indeed, that was arguably the entire reason Russia tried so hard to convince England to do Brexit and the GOP to install Trump as president. Putin likely thought the West would do nothing and so Ukraine would surrender for lack of support. Indeed, under Trump, the GOP changed its platform to a pro putin agenda. That is still the case, as far as I'm aware, which is why Russian state TV is constantly reassuring their population that when republicans take over Congress in November support for Ukraine will halt so they only need to hold out until then. See, Russia is ultimately a whole country that is actually just an oil company - that's what the war in Ukraine is all about, after all. And republicans always act in the interest of oil companies.

They dont want themselves to run out of those things and so want to control the hoard. They tried to storm the capital, with gallows out back, to overthrow a legitimate and secure election, and therefore undoing democracy itself with the aim of installing an unelected autocrat while simultaneously killing the duly elected officials.

Also, for the record, had I been on duty at the capital that day there would have been a lot of bodies. I’d have shot every single one I could. That was a serious security breach.

Was it an insurrection. No. It was a bunch of fools who thought sitting at Nancy Pelosi’s desk and milling about on the floor of Congress taking selfies was a brilliant political statement. I don’t support what they did and all guilty parties should be punished accordingly.

Real Coups usually involve plans, decapitation of leadership, severing of communication, weapons, and installing a interim government. @Exterminatore I'm not for any attempt to bring down democracy. That said if it is a PEACEFUL protest, then it's part of democracy... In theory, in a TRUE democracy, a region or area should be permitted to hold a peaceful democratic referendum concerning leaving the current nation state.

I say this because, not because I support any state (not even my home state of Texas) leaving the union, but because without a peaceful option, the only alternative left to a truly desperate people to save themselves from a truly incompetent or out of touch governance is violence... Which should be avoided if possible for both human and economic reasons. That said, they'd have to truly be desperate for an educated majority or supermajority to decide to do this as it would cut off all services from the nation state from which they are leaving, ranging from utilities to emergency services (many local emergency services get federal grants) and military protection (what's to keep Mexico from walking in and announcing "we licked it, it's ours!" when the Texas Air Force is primarily composed of WWII relics?

All of this said, I have not bothered to know the details on Seattle as, at the end of the day, a couple of blocks can't successfully leave the union and survive... Just turn off the electricity and I'd give them a week. At any level, the Seattle thing would have never succeeded due to lack of planning.

Jan 6 takes precedence due to the scope and how close they came to success. It was well planned and executed. Additionally, questions are raised about the lack of preparedness on behalf of the police. Not to say that was any one person's fault, but for all of the chatter, somebody dropped the ball somewhere with the information, and it may have been in getting it somewhere it didn't normally need to go, so it could be an information sharing problem. Point is to find out "why" because what if we found ourselves under a more competent attack? Those things need to be worked out

I’m not surprised you have not heard about Seattle. They initially called their new nation Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). I’m not surprised you haven’t heard of this. The liberal media magnifies issues that suit their agenda while only telling half the story. Is Fox any better? No. They just don’t control like 5 major news outlets so their influence is much less.

Burning down a police precinct and the attempted murder (the cops were inside when they lit it and they tried to barricade them in) and then subconsciously declaring multiple blocks of Seattle an new nation is an example of a well organized coups. They had a manifesto. They began to make laws and In the most literal sense of the world possible they began literally diplomatic relations with law enforcement from a stand point of being ambassadors NOT criminals they police were trying to get compliance with without additional blood shed. When the mayor was questioned about this she stated it was a “peaceful protest” despite them not allowing anyone to enter or leave. The irony is many of those people are in favor of illegal immigration, yet immediately on the birth of their new “nation” they set up borders…open borders is sooooo 2019, but I digress from my point. Both governor and mayor rejected federal help to restore order.

They authorized such behavior. Over 21 police were injured trying to take it back and multiple murders were committed by those armed thugs.

Whether or not the good citizens of Washington want/demand an investigation is up to them. If I were a citizen of the state I'd be leaning in and pressing for one, but I'm not. If they have the power to legalize sale and use of marijuana and tax it, they have the power to make that happen. It's up to them, not me. Same goes for riots in Minnesota, Detroit, and anywhere else.

But I am an American citizen, I pay federal taxes, and I voted in the last election. Unlike in the matters of other states that are clearly state issues, I have an interest and a legitimate stake in this one. So does any other American citizen, regardless of politics.

Arguing with false equivalencies is pointless, so I'm not going to waste keystrokes doing it.
