What do you think of woke Disney creating a Snow White with dark skin?

I understand that it's important to promote different conceptions of beauty, but really pale skin can be beautiful too. Her name "Snow White" was based on the color of her skin. Based on this, I think it's irrational to create a "Snow White" with dark skin. What do you think?

um, let me rephrase that. ADAPT something new. Black people aren't a recent innovation, suddenly sprung from the ground like mushrooms; they're thebdefault form of AMH humanity, and they have their own cultures atd fables (as mell as being part of others). Take a story from Zulu culture, or a Bantu one. Not only can you find stories specifically calling for darker skin (which seems to be what the bigots want, instead ef just calling for quality), odds are that few if any of your audience will have heard of it before.

I've been done with Disney and their crap since Avengers Endgame, really. I don't even pay attention to most of their BS anymore, especially Star Wars or their animated movies.

The important thing about snow White's character was that she was beautiful, and innocent. Changing her race won't change that, so I don't think it matters. If they want to change her name to match her skin color they can, but "snow white" is still associated with innocence more than it is with paleness so I don't think they need to change the name for it to make sense.

TLDR: They don't need to change her race, but I don't think it ruins the character to do so.

meh i guess i can see both sides - the whole point of snow white is that her skin is white like snow, her hair black like ebony blahblah, but then they casted rachel zegler who i think seems to be really suited for the role, i wouldn't even say she's dark skinned (yes she's not white like snow but her skin is basically just tanned) but she just looks perfect for the role and she can definitely sing
