He's my governor. I actually like him though he's a Republican. He's well educated, smart, thoughtful, respectful, well mannerd, army vet, articulate, and thinks before he opens his mouth.

I think Ron DeSantis will be the president of the United States in 2024. It's right there for him to take it.

Anybody who had a “just let it rip” attitude with coronavirus are just about the dumbest and most reckless assholes I could imagine, and would be in no way fit to govern a population wisely. That was a shining example of “how not to do it.” I’m sure the citizens who didn’t die or lose someone close to them enjoyed it, maybe thumbed their noses at us while they participated in large gatherings and shit, but remember people are absolute fucking idiots who unfortunately usually need someone else to force them to do the correct thing for collective society. I wish we could all do what the hell we wanted at all times too, but that’s not what a society is. The best part was Florida had ASTRONOMICAL Covid infection numbers, unsurprisingly, and then when Biden had to finally step in and say “bro, you guys can’t just go wild and then take the lion’s share of that hydro-chloroquine treatment from the federal government, and this dude and everyone turns around and acts like it Biden selfishly withholding treatment. NO, you fucking mongoloids…. it’s just that other people are getting sick, who ARE living in places that ARE doing their best, and they need the shit too, and it some point, “first come, first serve” has to give way too “Hey Florida, maybe chill the fuck and take a time-out like the rest of us are doing rather than just doing whatever, getting everyone sick, and then acting indignant when someone tells you you can’t have like 70% of the medicine because, you know, there are 49 other states who need it too, and not for nothing, they’re at least TRYING.
DeSantis is an absolute bozo. I hope his wife recovers from her breast cancer though🙏
He's actually a Navy vet, and still part of the Navy Reserves.
As of right now, he'd easily be my first choice for the next president, though I'm not sure that he's planning to run in 2024. He already said he has no interest in running against Trump (assuming Donald will run), and is committed to keeping Florida red and functional first and foremost. There's plenty of time for him to change his mind though, and he's clearly setting himself up to do it at some point.
In the Navy, he served/serves as a JAG officer. Now normally this would be pretty much useless as far as bragging rights or relevant background for political leadership is concerned, but he actually has some pretty unique experiences in this regard: He spent time with prisoners at GITMO, and was also a legal advisor to NSW SEAL Team 1 in 2007. This gives him a pretty unique perspective and insights as far as the military and foreign policy are concerned, especially for a state governor.
He's definitely going to run for president. Trump knows deep down he can't win a general election in 2024 nor are the Republican establishment aren't going to endorse him as strong as they did in 2016 so I doubt Trump runs for a 2nd term.
Moreover, Trump is a intolerable idiot that easily irritates literally everyone in politics at some point with his constant BS and whining and bragging.
“Tho he’s a republican” is your problem. If you have to fight through someone’s title to really see someone, you’re already blinded by partisanship.
That being said, I generally agree with a lot of the stuff he does but I wish he was more sensitive in how he talks. I agree that biological males shouldn’t swim against females and I agree that lgbt issues shouldn’t be taught to kids under 5, but he’s just a dick about it when he talks which gives his enemies great fodder to call him racist homophobe blah blah blah
That may be true about republicans (I have a problem with that too) but it’s also true about the democrats, the democrats just pretend it’s not a d republicans don’t.
Democrat traditionally cared to support unions lest workers get exploited, favor low skill workers getting a higher minimum wage, favor paid maternal leave for new moms, higher taxes on the super rich, affordable housing for low income families etc.
Republicans don't favor any of that. Everyone on their own.
Sink or swim is their political philosophy, a country and its citizens suffer greatly under such philosophy.
You keep comparing them like it’s one or the other. Take republicans out of the equation, and you see democrats really need to clean up their act. Morally it sounds great to hear what they say, but those things don’t work and when they don’t, the poor people suffer. The poor suffer in the recession, not the rich people. The poor people suffer with a lack of policing, not the rich people. The poor people suffer if they lose control of their healthcare because they’re not paying for it, so they don’t get to make the decisions. We need to step out of the red and blue, left and right perspective. They aren’t two sides of a coin or darkness vs light. They are both broken parties that need to do better and their supporters refuse to see that, so they never do.
He is really stupid. My favorite part was his attempt to drum up public support by attacking Disney, which not only will they lose in court against the quite frankly terrifying Disney lawyers but they just destroyed the economic future of his state. Companies are not going to trust a state that backtracks on their contractual agreements and Disney in particular can't invest further into the state now.
If you go to Disney world in Florida and look around, its not because of some corporate pride that everything is "perfect" and clean, that is the literal brand they are trying to sell you on. If they can't enforce that image then they can't operate Disney world in the first place. It has to be "magical" to be worth the money they invest.
If or rather WHEN Disney leaves Florida, all hell is going to break loose. So yeah, Ron DeSantis might just have singlehandedly destroyed Florida. Very impressive in a way.
I actually like this guy. He signed the "Don't say gay" bill which prohibits public school teachers in Florida from holding classroom instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity. It's funny how these people are okay with banning the discussion of God but okay with discussing gay shit. Just weird
I'm from Tennessee and I think Ron DeSantis is the best governor in the United States today. I do believe that he could run neck and neck with Trump in a primary but I also think it would be a very bad idea and I'm quite certain they have discussed the fact that it would split the party guaranteeing a loss against the Democrats. My opinion Ron DeSantis does not run until 2028 after Trump's next 4 years hoorah.

Sounds like a perfect conservative president material, as he is similar to Trump, but has much less "aggressive" rhetoric, which was the main reason that discouraged some people. Hope he runs for president one day, if I were American, I would vote for him.
I don't know much about him, other than what I sometimes see in the media. He seems to be a guy who takes action, and doesn't care if that upsets some people.
