You left off over a hundred presidents from that list. Nixon did a lot of other things. But he’ll be remembered for some of the racist shit he said and for pushing Affirmative Action even further under pressure from minorities, women, and other power hungry politicians.
I read somewhere on the internet from some vague source, of course, quoting him off the record<-how exactly can one be quoted “off the record”, when signing those executive orders saying “this won’t do shit for these people.”
People who hate Trump are just as racist and sexist as he is in my opinion. That’s why he acted the way he did. The agenda is it’s okay for minorites, women, and foreigners to be as racist and sexist as they please, BY LAW. <-It’s in the fucking United States Code to throw the civil rights act by the wayside. It’s taboo for white males to be sexist or racist. It’s not okay for them to be comfortable or prefer their own. And this shit was all put into motion, by other dumb shit White males in the 60s. Pushed by minorities and women, reluctantly packaged and delivered by those in power, White males.
Legally speaking, in the US, there is only one demographic at the top of the victim food chain that has been oppressed and it’s White males. Period. The majority of people on here are indebted to White males is you are a US citizen. You could arguably extend that to foreigners as well with how much globalization that’s been happening since the 60s with outsourcing, off shoring, and leveraging comparative advantage. Any other societal bull shit you guys have experienced is self-imposed, and it’s ironic saying that coming from a White male who is part of the demographic who started the whole thing. So, minorites and women are really doing a shit job of “following our lead”, and White males have been shit leaders. So where do we go from here?
I don't remember Nixon for being racist. Just for being a crook and for Watergate and being involved in the murder of JFK (which is WHY the Watergate thing happened!) The only good thing he did was finally stop that insane war in Viet Nam (or, sat least get us the fuck out of it!!).
*There have been 46 US presidents. Poor estimation on my part, it wasn’t over 100
That's okay, according to Barry, we have 58 states and, according to Brandon, he's been in politics for 147 years.
@FunkyMonkee AA doesn’t benefit me directly but it does have backlash benefits I think. While it’s harder and far more stressful to find a job because it takes longer ceteris paribus, it is “easier” to work harder (more motivated) and rise in ranks quicker than other females and minorities who didn’t have to try as hard once you do land a position (and there probably is some favoritism going on there with upper management if they’re White males because they know what it’s like, as in they have perspective). But another tradeoff is it’s harder for me to leave a company if the culture is garbage if it’s overrun by a bunch of spoiled brat women, minorities, or even “bros”. I’m starting to think every controversial thing has these backlash effects. Brief history on AA and Nixon’s involvement:
www.aaaed.org/.../...ory_of_Affirmative_Action.asp
And it’s harder to find this stuff on Wikipedia in regards to Nixon. So, your experience very much makes sense. The media, including Wikipedia in a sense although it’s a little more controlled, probably tends to focus on most convenient, controversial issues that will sell, so timing and luck is a part of it. So when I say he’ll be remembered for that, it’s really me, and almost impossible for me to accurately speak for anyone else. The first thing I heard about Nixon was Watergate stuff to cover up some stuff. Then dug deeper into it over the years and uncovered these gems.
@FunkyMonkee I’m not a war expert. But the recurring patterns I’ve seen in past wars have been defender’s advantage and pyrrhic victories, Viet Nam looked the same. The US seems to have taken great pains in the past few decades to wage war in the Middle East that minimizes both of these in being extremely surgical with their strikes to minimize collateral damage so it’s in fact remains profitable to intervene for a just cause. Like trying to keep oil infrastructure intact so oil prices don’t fluctuate, maintaining a presence in Israel as an economic hub and testing ground, or probably a more smoke and mirror objective in squashing sects of Islamic religions that focus on male empowerment.
All I'm saying is that, I lived through his entire reign and the only things I know him for is Watergate (a cover-up to keep us from knowing who was involved with the JFK murder), lying his ass off, cheating, quitting half way through his second term and, the only good thing he did, getting us the hell out of Vietnam! There were a few other things he would mostly be remembered for but, I didn't want to make a shopping list out of this. But, Watergate will always be his albatross!!
Nixon committed a criminal act which led to his resignation from office but otherwise, his presidency was fairly successful. The coutry was doing much better four years ago under Trump than it is now, and the fact that you don't have Biden listed as a choice suggests that you are a diehard leftist who refuses to face the facts of his failures. I also know that diehard leftists will argue all day, change the topic when things get uncomfortable, or simply deny the facts, so I am not interested in engaging in ANY conversation with you on this subject.
Older and wiser, thanks for the helpful graph. That picture shows the following: When Obama was sworn in 2008, the total deft increased at first, then fell sharply down in 2015 to below 500 billion. When Trump took office in 2016, -it shot up to right below 1500 billion, making the country's deficit very high. And the Total Budget decifit went steadily down since Obama took office, and then climbed in 2016 to over 500 billion. Not good!
So does the fact that he even HAS Trump ON the list!! I wonder if they'll EVER come up with a vaccination for TDS? SO MANY loony lefties need one... or several!!
Her own father even says you should never argue with an idiot. So, you shouldn't start any arguments with her! She's an idiot!
Are you kidding? Nixon was known as Tricky Dicky, but at least he was not a narcissist, racist pig. He could also form and say complete sentences, and he was super intelligent. In college, I did a research report on longitudinal studies of gifted individuals. The study followed gifted people’s lives from the time they were young until adulthood. Richard Nixon was one of those subjects.
I do not support or condone the riot at the Capitol on January 6, but can you please explain how that "nearly cost us our democracy?" How did that one riot almost accomplish something that no riot in the past has ever accomplished?
@OlderAndWiser Are those crickets I hear?
y'all do realize the US had a pushover president that could of stopped hitler right? he could of actually stopped the holocaust, he genuinely was able too and he was there he was RIGHT THERE but instead he used a dingy piece of paper as proof hitler wouldn't continue his conquest
It's not that he was a pushover, he KNEW what he was doing! He ALLOWED the Japs to attack Pearl Harbour and didn't say SHIT about it to ANYONE before the event!
Who do YOU think was President during that time? Hoover was in from 1932 `til the day he died in 1945!! WWII lasted from, `39 `til `45!! Hoover was President THE ENTIRE TIME!! Who did YOU think it was, LBJ? Lincoln? We were fighting the krauts AND the Japs AT THE SAME TIME! And, if you're gonna call ME an idiot, you fucking better damn well learn some fucking English, you fucking DOLT!! It's NOT, "could OF", fuck head, it's "could HAVE"!! 26 years old and you STILL don't know that? I learned that shit in 2nd grade!!
@FunkyMonkee Actually, Hoover was the president from March, 1929 – March, 1933. That is when FDR took office and he remained there until he died at Warm Springs on April 12, 1945. Then Truman assumed the office.
@OlderAndWiser You're absolutely right! I dood a boo-boo! I was almost half asleep when I was writing that and I KNEW it was FDR, I even looked it up to be sure and saw his picture but, for some reason,. I said Hoover. At least I got the double O's and the V right.
@FunkyMonkee I am at home wth covid at the moment so I am not too sharp today, either!
@OlderAndWiser My neighbor's entire family had it 2 years ago and all they took to get rid of it was Robitussin CF and Tylenol!
@FunkyMonkee I'm taking ibuprofen for my fever and my girlfriend is using Nyquil PM for her cough.
@OlderAndWiser As long as it works.
@schittywok Like I said, they both have a OO and a V in their name, they were both President at roughly the same time and I'd been up for about 30 hours when I wrote it! Besides, it was Putin's fault!!
@FunkyMonkee :) :) :)

>>Still, the witnesses' steady testimony shed new light on events that we've known about for more than a year. And the entire hearing evoked memories of the Nixon era, because it was all about how a sitting president tried to weaponize the powers of federal law enforcement to help his political campaign.<<
Lol Imagine still citing CNN as a legit news source. Gtfoh.
„LOL“, imagine still not being able to refute any of the facts CNN reported, while your head is still stuck in the Qanon rabbit hole.
So you think just because I think and know CNN is fake news that automatically means I get info from things like qanon? Christ you're unbelievably retarded
Since I am actually smart I am doing quite well, but thanks for your "concern".
I honestly don't give a damn from which sewer you receive your "information" (cough), it doesn't matter anyway. You're still uninformed and uneducated and still can't point out any false content from what I posted. Just like aaall the other fools I challenged to provide me with their superior knowledge. Boring.
Yeah keep talking, that's all you Germans are good for seeing as you can't fight worth spit.
Nixon was probably the most underrated presidents in my lifetime. He was brilliant.
I would call Trump one of the worst US presidents, but he's only partially to blame for that. The liberals and media hated him so much and stirred up so much trouble that he couldn't even do his job. Even when he did the same things that every other president does, the media would blow it up into some sort of travesty. If he did something good, you'd never hear about it.
I've come to believe that liberals and Democrats hate Trump so much because they wanted him to run for president as a Democrat. <- That's completely true. When he switched side they thought of him as a traitor and hated him for it. If he had run as a Democrat and won (which was entirely possible) they would have loved him instead. I think from their point of view, being a Democrat but running as a Republican is far worse than if he had been a real Republican all along. They just couldn't stand being jilted like that.
The worst president ever was Trump. He was impeached twice, and actually tried to overthrow the government to hang on to power. He put his own family members in positions of power. The 'best and the brightest' are only those with absolute loyalty to him. The signs of a dictator. Even today, he's dividing Americans against each other.
Nixon was an intelligent diplomat who opened China to the world, got the US out of the Vietnam war, oversaw the the Apollo moon landing, and tried to reduce the nuclear threat with the Soviet Union. His paranoia got the better of him with that stupid attempt to break into Watergate. George McGovern wasn't even close to being a threat in the '72 elections, and the attempt to cover up Watergate made it even worse. At least he left quietly, with no attempt for a coup. .
Well there has been 46 presidents and you're only putting up two. Biden by far is the worst. I picked Nixon out of the two of them. But I know Buchannan was bad.
Do your research and THEN ask the question. Alright? Look at Trumps economy and gas prices... That speaks volumes.
Trump was not perfect he did go along with teh COVID stuff...
Neither of these are close to being worst. Historians' consensus is that it's James Buchanan.
See here...
https://medium.com/lessons-from-history/historians-ranked-the-worst-president-in-us-history-trump-didnt-win-57f5abde3437
Ah, a joke poll created by an ignorant and indoctrinated Democrat.
The worst president of the United States would have to be Woodrow Wilson, who, in 1913, sold out the population of the USA and doomed the nation to destruction and slavery when he illegally and unconstitutionally handed control of the US economy to the cabal of Jewish bankers known as the Federal Reserve.
Neither. Andrew Jackson probably. Honorable mentions to James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson. No president in the last 100 years can top those 3, with their explicitly racist policies that tore the country apart and oppressed people.
Bush W. Bush was the worst i mean Nixon was bad but Bush actually got away with his terrible lie about weapons of mass destruction. trump was better than Obama and Biden. those are the only ones i've been alive for and have active memory of.. can't say anything for the ones way before.
"WHY IS THE RIGHT SO OBSESSED ABOUT DONALD TRUMP? WHY CAN'T THE RIGHT EVER STOP TALKING ABOUT DONALD TRUMP? WHY DOES THE RIGHT LOVE DONALD TRUMP SO MUCH?"
Jesus H. Christ, people like you are fucking pathetic. And/or just a troll.
Between those two; Nixon. The general consensus I've heard for worst president ever is between Jackson, Bucchanon, and Pierce.
Trump wins because he is literally trying to kill democracy and he purposely divided Americans against each other. All this because he is a narcissistic sociopath.
Nixon because of the vietnam war and the bombing campaigns that were genocidal. Trump is bad too, increasing sanctions on Iran, continuing drone strikes in ME, pardoning war criminals. But Nixon has been worse for the world.
You realize US involvement in the Vietnam war started with Eisenhower and escalated much more thanks to Kennedy and Johnson right? And Nixon was the one who withdrew the troops, so what point are you trying to make?
@Tiffany_VG LBJ was most at fault in getting the USA involved.
Most people don't really know their history.
It was Nixon that started the "Vietnamization" process, that withdrew the USA from the war.
USA manpower went from 500,000 in 1968 (the end of the LBJ presidency)
to less than 20,000 in 1973 (End of Nixons first term, and the end of USA involvement).
@SlightlyEccentric You can't really put that on Kennedy. He actually DID stop the war... momentarily... until LBJ started it right back up again!
Trump was a GOD compared to most of the others!!
I would think the president who got us in loved in the Vietnam war and got 60k of our people pointlessly killed was the worst one.
@Lost_in_the_Woods but then remember which president got us in the situation to pull out
@Lost_in_the_Woods trump made the deadline… which was almost not met because of the abrupt failure of the Afghan government. If the deadline wasn’t that quick, the bomber would’ve never gone to the airport
Quick? Ten to twenty years to accomplish absolutely nothing.
It was long overdue. He did it.
Most people agreed with the decision, just not the execution.
But hey, the great thing about America is you don't have to agree.
Many experienced military contractors thought the war should go on forever and continue to become more and more expensive over time.
@LazerBean That was LBJ actually.
LBJ was most at fault in getting the USA involved.
Trump will be going down as one of the best presidents in history he will be up there with Washington and Lincoln probably not as good as those two but he’ll definitely be number three or four just like Reagan
Neither of the above. I'm a Democrat and I don't like either of them. But I think the worst presidents we've had in recent years were Obama and Biden. And I even voted for them!
I respect the honesty here. I'm non-partisan and I was a Bill Clinton fan, and wanted Al Gore to win... fuck Bush, his dad sucked and he sucked. Just constant war. If the Dems would have put Tulsi Gabbard in she would've got my vote... but they put fucking Joe Biden of all people... wtf? Hands down I was Trump all the way against that shit... lost though. ... and we now have what we have just because so many people have TDS. It's like people were not even thinking about how their tax returns would look. His mean tweets... big deal, he punk that rocket man and kept Putin in check... plus the tweets were fucking funny.
Hell yeah... our deficit hasn't looked any better since him. I think his wife is a power-hungry war hawk, but I liked him and I don't care if he was letting staff suck his dick. My tax returns were bomb, and the few guns I have were safe... he was even down with border control. Checked all the boxes for me. The laxed opinion to weed (even though I don't smoke it), I like that. ... needless to say the bullshit identity politics stuff the dems are on now (the woke stuff), is pushing people like me away hard. Very hard.
Yeah the republicans seem split just as much as the dems... all over Trump. I get tired of the only good thing said about Biden is at least it's not Trump. My tax returns and the value of what I can buy will not say that is all that great. Biden was just a bad fucking choice... fucking wish Tulsi got in there over him big time.
Neither- neither of them are even the worst of their respective centuries. Please remember that history didn't start in 1950.
You didn't put Biden on here for a reason... because you know who would be the once again... most popular president in history. Ever. Even the dead people would vote for him.
Um, no he didn’t. And if you think banning a sitting President from social media is a good thing then you’re clearly comfortable with censorship and deplatforming people. In which case you can go eat a dick. 👍
Are you suggesting the us federal government is responsible for creating covid 19?
You must be one of them radical conspiracy theorists.
@Anonymous accurate
*pandemic*
And then, you woke up. WOW!! You SURE CAN DREAM!!
@FunkyMonkee she's 65... she's not young enough to know how the news is to be watched
@007kingifrit I saw her age and thought it was hilarious! Someone that old STILL doesn't know any better? But, my aunt was 84 when she voted for Joey 2 years ago so, I guess it could happen.
Nixon but trump ain't far behind. Nixon also felt more like a slap to the face because of having someone like Kennedy just before. Going from the best to the worst.
Obviously Lincoln was the worse president. He murdered millions in cold blood and destroyed our republic.
