What is America like outside of New York and California?

I have been to New Jersey also. NY and Cali are normal to me. I have never been to Walmart, never have seen many people excluding law enforcement having guns. While both states are wealthy and have a diverse population and have legalized cannabis they are still very conservative compared to places in the Netherlands, Germany, but what about the Middle of the US?

New York and Cali are cool, in my experience. I don’t know if I’d want to live in the big cities there, just for reasons of avoiding a hectic lifestyle. I haven’t been around too many places. Florida and Texas strike me as remarkably crazy, lmao. I live in Massachusetts, and it’s honestly so chill and peaceful here, I love it. We got our crazy Boston micks that’ll break a beer bottle over your head, lmao, but I’m not around a bunch of gun-crazy fake tough guys, so that’s pretty sweet. I can’t even fathom living in one of these states where everyone is strapped and paranoid of one another. That must be horrible. I kind of prefer living here where I can maybe even find my way into a fistfight and not feel like I’m going to be shot if I win, or before we even fight because some pussy hid behind “I feared for my life” like in these insane “Stand Your Ground Law” states. I honestly can’t believe these places are in the same country as me, that seems like such third world shit, lmfao.

the people in other areas, many areas are friendlier. nyc is is the avoidance capital of the world. I knew most my neighbors in ohio, talk with people everywhere. NYC, everyone is scared to talk. CA don't know so much.

I think you far overestimate how progressive the Netherlands and Germany are, especially Germany is much more conservative country. And cannabis isn’t even legal in the Netherlands lol

Decriminalized to the point of what typically would be 'legalization' in the states. New York City, LA, and the Bay Area, are much more conservative than Hamburg, and Amsterdam. I think if the States is progressive about something it is drug reform. I mean in just attitudes also, I have traveled to both, and sex, drinking, prostitution, drug reform, (before like 2018-2022). To sum it up I think Germany is pretty on par with cannabis to the same level as the American West Coast but more progressive when it comes to anything else even despite the 12 week abortion ban in Germany.

I mean, no. Cannabis is decriminalized only in very small quantities. Anything above it, and it is absolutely illegal and will be prosecuted.

And lol, you’re vastly overestimating how progressive the Netherlands and Germany are, especially considering the Netherlands and Germany are very diverse. Amsterdam and Hamburg are absolutely not representative of the Netherlands or Germany as a whole. Moreover, in Amsterdam they are also shutting down large parties of the prostitution, sex, drugs and drinking tourism literally because they want it to be gone.

The rest of the country is generally much friendlier, and much less densely populated. Regardless of the state you're in, big cities tend to be liberal while suburbs and rural towns are more conservative.
