Didn't the British government lower the tea tax and try to do them a favor?

Trending & News They didn't, it's a myth. The tea was never "British" it was owned by a private company, the East India Company which was abroad ships partially owned by Americans. The company was given a tax break and this is what Triggered the Americans.
Neither did they throw the tea overboard, the boxes were too heavy. A few were broke open and handfuls sprinkled overside.
It was the insignificant actions of a few men nothing more but over the decades the myth grew.
