Why are English people from the country into US civil war stuff?

more than a few country people from the uk I've seen over the years have had a strange liking for American civil war history

Other people I've seen have had confederate flags or known an inordinate amount about civil war history

Never ever seen anyone (non celeb) with any US Civil war stuff and I actually go to battle re-enactments.

Crimean
WW1
WW2
etc

never even seen stalls at the above selling anything.


Now knowing about the American Civil war, different matter it’s often taught in school, as part of emancipation.

a lot of people in the UK love history, as ours is so varied and covers not just the UK but the entire globe.

So yeah I can see people knowing about it, I do, but not the clothing etc.

Is because the War was between the North and the South and it was to abolish slavery to end slavery it's a very historical battle over four years I believe it was this is one of the reasons why President Lincoln is probably the best president we've ever had
