Why are British people so jealous of Americans?

I see English people always critizing Americans, but they can never accept their own faults. Can't they accept that Americans are better than them in every aspect?

Education: US has more and better Universities.
Money: US is much richer than the UK.
Housing: US has much cheaper and bigger houses than UK ever will.
Power: US is the most powerfull country in the world, they have the best Military, best Air Force, best Navy etc.
Legal system: US has much fairer legal system in sectors such as animal cruelty, robbery etc.
Healthcare: OK, this one goes to the British, i have to admit the UK has a superior healtcare system.

Education: Actually British Universities, although (as you should expect that it has less universities and schools since the UK is smaller) tend to be much better.

The USA is ranked behind Sweden as having the worst education in the western world According to the PISA polling for internatonal world education. Money: The US is in 19 trillion dollar debt, The US is literally hanging of a cliff by its fingernails and is approaching full economic collapse. The USA is leading the world with the most negative billions which is a first for a country. The US relies on other countries being willing to sink a minimum of 3% of their GDP into USA treasury in order to maintain the dollar. Many countries are now fed up with the USA unsustainable spending and are moving away from the dollar.

When debt approaches the 21 to 22 trillion dollar mark (which is inevitable considering Obama seems to have upped spending to 4 trillion plus a year now). A Downgrade is compulsory

Housing: US housing IS cheaper... however, US houses are made from much cheaper resoureces. Brick compared to the materials used for US houses allows a cheaper place but at a quality cost.

Power: The US does have a lot of power, inheriting from the UK during the collapse due to world war 2. Their special forces however aren't better than the UK's, the UK special forces may be smaller but is still strides higher than the US's, But lets not forget that US debt. The US will soon have no choice but to be funding the whole chinese military on virtue of repayments.

'Money' - US is much richer than the UK' - Yet in the UK the government can support people without jobs and we get free healthcare, were as in the US it's pretty easy to become homeless without a good job.
'Housing' - Cheaper and bigger houses? Not quite. Both have good houses for their price, ranging from small to massive.
'Power' - The US is the most powerful country, but it's military don't count for shit.
'Legal system' - It's not fairer in every aspect, although I agree with the animal cruelty and robbery as you said. However, both have flaws and both have benefits.
May I add that the UK is healthier too?
The US has many states allowing a larger cultural diversity which is great.

Really, both have many benefits and it's preference. I personally prefer Britain but having been born and raised in America I have to say it has a 'home' feeling I can't replace. I'll likely move back when I can afford it.

US DOES have better Uni's tough, UK only has Oxford and Cambridge, US has like 23 Uni's that are on par with those two. You have to be quite delusional to believe UK has good housing system. The average UK house is 800 square metres big, compared to 2500 square metres of the average US house, Uk houses are also MUCH more expensive, go and look at the prices and you'll see.

I don't know about your comment about Military, but the US is a more powerful country in every aspect in this sector, you can't argue. You forgot to mention that Britain can't control their teen population. The advantages you mentioned are not significant enough to make UK seen as a better country really.

I am not 'quite delusional' to believe the UK has a good housing system. The average UK house and the average US house are completely out of the point. Having lived in both, the UK is slightly more expensive but it also has much nicer environments (on average). Where the environments and the like are similar, so are the prices. While the UK on average is smaller in terms of house size, there's still absolutely truck loads of massive houses available. You don't have to go with the average, both have many different sized housing available.

My comment about the military was essentially encasing 'Military isn't as important to a country nowadays, it's about what agreements, allies and rules each military follows. If America tried to compete against the entire world, it wouldn't win. Unless nuclear weapons are involved, but then military doesn't matter.

The US is more powerful in the military aspects you mentioned, but it also isn't that important.

Also your other comments refer to the 'British' as if they are all one person. I'd expect you to be more open minded than that, in the same way that other commenters aren't going with an American stereotype and assuming all Americans fit that stereotype.

Size does matter, because it affects a person's quality of life. You won't find a house with more than 1200 square feet in UK unless you are willing to spend MILLIONS. You can easily get a house with 5000 square feet in the US with 300k. That's an important factor to me. Uk people on the whole also seem to be more reserved and less friendly, this is not counting racism towards foreigners.

There are also a lot of Chavs in UK that cause a lot of trouble as you know. Uk seems to be biased towards women and children a lot of times as well from what i have seen. Lastly, i get where you are coming from, i just feel like US seems to be better on a whole than UK.

- I don't think women or children are treated biased, but I have to agree with the Chavs. If there's one thing that makes the UK a thousand times worse than the US, it has to be the chavs haha!

In the UK the price to buy a house is high, but government funded houses or just renting means you can support a family of 4+ in a good sized house that allows everybody space and privacy, for almost minimum wage. In the US they are more about 'owning' your own house but if you can swallow your pride then renting in the UK is very beneficial.
Overall though you make a good point and I respect your opinion. The good part is, we can choose where we live more or less, so in the end it doesn't matter. :)

I have to disagree with you on the housing part. Even renting a house in UK is expensive, i can tell from experience and you will have to pay a lot of money every month if you want a "decent" sized house because as i said the size of UK houses is really small. Can't you do the same in the US tough? What is a good sized house to you?

My family (Two teenagers, one adult male and adult female with sometimes the additional extra adult male, and pets) can live in a 3 bedroom (one small, one medium and one large), 2 bathroom, big garden, shed, attic, kitchen, dining room and a few other generic rooms with free repairs, internet, food (etc) for everyone, holidays and everything we could ever want while all it takes is for one adult male to be on slightly over minimum wage by about £900-£1500 (Sometimes does overtime for more.) Recently the adult female started working so we have a lot of disposable income and just got a new TV, a £6000 worth of equipment for astronomy etc and it's really about as cheap as houses go. If that's not good sizing, then I don't know what is.

Good size to me is multiple bathrooms, at least 2 (probably 3 or 4) bedrooms, spare rooms and enough room for everything. Excess room isn't really necessary after a certain point.
