India making a military alliance with China has about a 0% chance of happening, plus their relationship with Russia has gotten very strained. Russia and China tolerate each other solely because of China's insatiable need for Russian oil and natural gas, and Russia's need for a reliable trade partner. South Africa is basically a Chinese vassal just like almost half the rest of that continent, and Brazil is something of a wild card because they're far too nationalistic to buy in, and it's preferable for Brazil to be the dominant South American power than to just be a Chinese pawn on the world stage. BRICS as an alliance is about as authentic and meaningful as the alliance between Hitler and Stalin; it would fall apart very quickly in the event of a major conflict.
Most Helpful Opinions
First, South Africa is a poor corrupt country that is of not much significance. So they won’t help.
Then, India. India is constantly on edge with China and is deepening its collaboration with the West through the Quad, indeed to counter China. They are not going to go against NATO enough to make BRICS a competitor for NATO. The same holds for Brazil, it is too close to NATO to make BRICS a competitor.
Third, Russia. Russia is economically losing immense power, militarily losing a lot of equipment, and is isolated. They are not much more than Italy, let alone France/UK/Germany in terms of power.
Only China is strong enough to contribute a lot, but not enough against NATO let alone US + South Korea + Australia + Japan (+ Vietnam & India)

For example China is hostile to both India and Russia. Also its a super tiny group compared to NATO and when it comes to military alliances like NATO the size is everything.
No, it’s never going to be a military alliance, but it will be far more significant if they cooperate to end the the use of the dollar in commodity transactions.
I hope so. There needs to be a counterbalance to NATO, which exists as an imperialist tool for world domination. Someone needs to rein in the vicious USA.
At the moment I believe there are too many conflicting interests between China and India and between Russia and China.
No, but they might well make the West an economic backwater by accelerating dedollarization in response to sanctions (legalized confiscation of foreign reserves, etc.).
No because one they are not as many and also they have an economical treaty and not a military. The better equivalent would be the G7.
Not really? I guess they could in a roundabout way, but NATO and BRICS represent two very different kinds of power.
No because Pakistan can’t do anything india fights with china
The South Africa guy or whoever is too far away from them so they will fall firstI’m sorry, what similarity do you see to NATO?
Thats the Spectre of the real world.
