Okay so let me try to explain it to you like this I have a job I make good money I have side jobs because I like making money and I also buy and I sell things fix them up repair them sell them to make money I get to deal with so many different types of people it's unreal and no matter what I'm doing whether it's my real job a side job or selling something there are people that want it cheaper everybody wants it for next to nothing now I can either will and deal so I can get what I'm either worth as I'm working or at least what I pay for it if I'm buying and selling
Because of the quality of work I do and because of the eyes that I have on the things that I buy and sell I know tons and tons of people they all want to come to me for Wheels and Deals they want me to work for them because I charge a good price and I do quality work if I buy something fix it up and sell it people come to me because they want things like that because it is unique different and they know it's a good product and I stand behind my word
I'm just a regular person but now let's take a politician look how much money they spent by trying to get elected and the moment they get elected they want that job they want to keep that job and the people that help them get elected gave them money and they gave them money because they want laws changed they want things to be different to benefit them you have more than a hundred to a thousand donors all pulling at you because they're going to give you money so you help them in one way or the other and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and and you just keep growing that brand until you have lied to so many people that you have to do exactly what they want or otherwise they're not going to give you money next year to the point if these long-term politicians have basically sold us out just to get that money to get reelected they say one thing to one donor and save the complete opposite to another donor it's a big lie it's a big manipulation now you get 500 of those same type of people doing the exact same thing that you are that you are part of their system so now they all get together and say we need to do this for more money so we can have this agenda their movements are b******* they are selfish and only do it for themselves not what they got sworn in for not what they promised to do for us but they do it for themselves and their party this is why our country is the way that it is look at all the f****** poor hungry people and they just sent how many billions of dollars to Ukraine and then once the war is over who's going to rebuild Ukraine who's going to give money for that we are the American people's taxpaying money I don't mean to be a dick but I mean there are Americans that need money there are children in America that are hungry and our government has to step up to those people first before anybody else if we're going to go broke at least let's keep the money in our country so taxes will still be paid and the government would get back some of that money but you are so right everything is going downhill because it's all been a lie it's all been in manipulation just so these people can be it elected and the sad part is not one of them out of all the official elected seats that we vote people into office for not one of them will stand up to be great not one of them they collect their $250,000 in your paycheck or more and way more because of all the inside business opportunities that they come across why because they're going to get money to be reelected if they do certain things think about the Taliban think about the Russians what they're doing to Ukraine America government is one of the biggest gangster type things going on that are against the law but they can get away with it because they are elected officials they can do or say manipulate anything that they want to and the American people pay for it we are all being manipulated so bad I mean since the toilet paper scare it's because they11 Reply

US politics is a tug-of-war between angry Republicans and angry Democrats, and nothing gets done. Both are full of crap, and both have nothing positive to offer for society. Both get salty and offended, but call the other party salty and offended. Both are hypocrites and do not walk the talk. Both are fueled with white supremacy and have nothing to offer minorities. The only difference is that one is honest about their dislike for black people while the other tries to hide it and have them vote to get them into office, then forget about them for the next 4 years until the next election. One is a lion and the other is a snake. The lion will attack you just like you expect it to, while the snake will hiss and shake it's tail before it lunges at you in a split second out of nowhere.
I encourage all black people to not vote for any. It's a popularity context between two rich and old white men that are full of empty promises and don't give a damn about you. 2 years in office and Biden increased police budget. Funny that Libs would critisze someone, but still vote for them under the "anyone is better than Trump" excuse. If you critically critisize him and he is from your party, he is NOT WORTHY to be president. Trump on the hand encouraged his Hill Billy supporters to invade the most sacred government building in America. Yeah.
And before you say anything about BLM, I can care less about them. I'm for the idea, not the movement. The movement can die and another one with a different name will be born. The organization can be corrupt and people will still fight for a cause. With or without BLM, this fight will continue. With or without Dems, this fight will continue. As for other LGBTQIA+, feminism and that other stuff, count me out. I didn't sign up for this, and if fighting for Black liberation means I have to co-sign on a lot of this, then I cannot compromize my own values just to have "potential" allies. I don't think the US is going backwards, I just think more and more people are getting tired with bullshit.17 Reply- +1 y
What I'll agree with you on is that both parties are dysfunctional, but there's a very basic philosophical difference. I'll let you figure it out.

@loveslongnails Big government vs small government. Yes, I know. To be fair with you, I could care less. I don't like hypocrisy and snowflakes. Both parties have that. Conservatives that are " for family values" get caught cheating on their spouses, and liberals whi are "for women's rights" get caught sponsoring a sex-trafficking ring. Liberals want to talk about science when it comes to covid, but all of a sudden science doesn't mean shit when we bring up the lgbtq, and conservatives say that liberals are snowflakes, but they get triggered when someone kneels during the national anthem. I can go on and on. I don't have respect for either.

+1 yNaw, going backwards is the liberals constantly trying to take away guns... and restrict them from people who've done nothing wrong. Red flag laws are a prime example, someone who has broken no laws, now has a right taken away and often they have to pay CASH to get their property back that the government stole from them, while missing work to appear in court to prove they are not a threat.
How does one PROVE they aren't a threat, you can't prove your not something.
We are also going backwards in regards to inflation, gas prices and other things since Biden took office... Trump had us progressing excellent forward.
Abortion is not illegal, the SCOTUS did not change that it did a legal ruling, states have the power to decide which is actually a great step forward. If more states had rights, vs. the big central dictatorship government telling everyone what to do, there would be less division.
Don't like what your state does, fight to change it or move to one that suits you better. State rights is major progress forward.71 Reply

Perhaps they want women to increase the population numbers (especially after COVID), maybe is the strategy used by government so that this “soon to be mother’s” consume products that right now are overpriced and sure, will be future consumers. Maybe they are starting to see that women are becoming more independent than they expected and it doesn’t work in this man’s world. Or it will be a way to excuse future tax payers money going to to the foster care system. But in no way this looks good

@exitseven This is why America is sinking. Playing the lowest common denominator game... "well yeah Trump sucks but not as bad as the other guy!" And that alone is enough to distract people to hop on board the murrrican political train to pick one side vs. the other, all the while being duped into voting for the lesser idiot.
Practically zero critical thinking. Sinking ship - +1 y
Agreed. This pendulum swing is because the average American citizen is basically ignorant! The average lawmaker either in Congress or out in the states generally has no idea how to even meet payroll. NO business sense whatsoever. I hate being so dang critical, but a lack of the truth is driving these situations. This is NOT a Republican v Democrat thing! It is an ignorance thing and it makes me mad as hell watching politicians brag about just how truly ignorant they are!

@nachosaresexy It wasn't a coincidence that Chump had Russian cheerleaders on the parade after his election. His campaign was funded by Putin and he, like a good lapdog, carried out Putin's agenda in America. You'll say Putin gains nothing by dividing America but you're wrong. Russia is the most aggressive force on the planet and the recently started war proves it, history proves it too. Ofc Putin will never attack America directly because he knows he'd lose that war, so he divided America. Because a divided America is a weak America and she won't be looking in his direction. Putin may have the high military tech he keeps bragging about but he doesn't have the manpower to control it. The Russian population is approx. 140 million people but like everywhere else, less than one third are capable of fighting. America's population is about 240 million people and if even one third are capable of fighting, that changes the numbers a lot and not in his favor and he knows it.

@nachosaresexy Like I said, it's a theory. Still has to be proven. On the other hand it makes a lot of sense. That's exactly the communist's style cuz they're cowards - subversive activity from the inside. They did the same subversive activity in my country in mid 1940's and when things went to hell because of their actions, they cowardly escaped to the safety of USSR.
Why do you want to just look at things in a negative way? I am in my 60s and years ago I learned that I will ONLY find what I am looking for. While I try to be real when I make an observation, I don't limit myself like this. Almost every day when I go out I see human generosity that sometimes amazes me. A while back I saw a middle-aged black couple give a young white mother money to finish paying for food for her kids. Not long ago I saw a white male stand out in the driving rain to stop a cab for a young black female. I spend a lot of time in Europe and Asia. In fact, I will be in Europe very soon and so far it looks like I will be there for at least a month. While it is not my intent to insult you, I do want to make it absolutely clear! Before you start badmouthing the US go spend some time in some other places! Is the US a perfect place? NO, we are not! Am I happy with a lot of the things political I have seen here over the last 10 or so years? NO! I am not! Still, the US is my home and I REFUSE to badmouth my home! Especially when I have with my own eyes witnessed MUCH worse places all around the world!
10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. America has been rolling down hill for many years. We have simply started rolling faster. It's past time to get rid of the career politicians on both sides and stop electing new ones. Put in strict investment laws for people in office and their family members. So that we no longer have officials regulating a industry that they are heavily fiscally invested in. Make campaign financing 100% public and force campaigns to publicly account for every cent they take in. Get rid of Super Pac and cut down on the sheer amount of money a campaign can take in. Push for regulations that bar anyone leaving office from taking a job in wall street. Since we have elected officials on both sides that take jobs in investment firms after they leave office.
Because the simple truth is for generations our government has been a revolving door between corporate America, Wall Street and our government. It is an issue that both major parties are guilty off and it's an issue that is in a lot of ways preventing any meaningful change from happening. Simply because the same people making a mint of the joke that is our government are the ones have the majority of officials on both sides by the purse strings. Simply because if people going into or already in office refuse to ball Wall Street and Corporate America have enough finical power and influence to publicly trash their life and ensure the vast majority of people see it happen.00 ReplyI appreciate your honesty, but sadly through your ignorance. You, like so many others want to cry, "They're taking our rights!" What rights, per se? Abortion rights? You are aware that Roe did not set precedence on abortion, right? Due process and privacy were the issues. And the case created a glitch. So the glitch was fixed. Amazingly, you have a problem with it, yet I'm willing to bet you proudly support a protestor that held up a sign that said "Hands off our bodies!" If you did, then you should be very pleased with the overruling of Roe. The federal government has removed itself from your body. That is a good thing, if you actually believe in women's rights.
SCOTUS also empowered YOU, a member of the PEOPLE, to elect officials that support your viewpoint in order to make laws that support pro-choice positions.
I highly doubt you're standing up for people who live in a state where recreational marijuana is illegal, whereas it is legal in other states. Their bodies, their choices, right? Same for vaccines as well, right?
NONE of what I just highlighted is protected directly under the Constitution, including abortion. There was never a right to it. So if you don't like Texas, don't live in Texas. Live in California, go get knocked up, and abort away, and be proud of your abortion. Be proud of not valuing life. Be proud of never wavering and accepting late term and partial birth abortions. And most of all, you better be protesting in front of the prison Scott Peterson is in, because it is wrong that he got convicted of murdering his unborn child. He should only have one conviction, right?
Stop being a consumed sheeple puppet. Don't let ANTIFA, social media, social justice warriors, and mainstream media control your mind. Think for yourself, leverage actual rights afforded to you under the Constitution, and go from there.04 Reply- +1 y

Spot on, Moose. Glad to know there are fellow free thinkers and believers of the greatest document ever written out there, not afraid of the issue, and put liberty first. I once asked a HS teacher how Hitler and the national socialists were so successful in the first part of the 20th century. First, you identify a common enemy, demonize that group and VERY carefully sparse the real truth, in other words, the best lie is a lie with enough truth in it to be believable. What makes me want to cry is today's youth is NOT being taught to think! They are being taught WHAT to think. This is a VERY dangerous situation that WILL NOT END WELL!
- +1 y
All good, Moose. We just got "shamed" by the asker, stating all the men's answers are useless. Hahahaha! She drops an insanely baseless, fact less, and useless question and comments, then turns around and says, "Oh you guys! You don't know anything. I'm gonna go cry like the bitch I am because I can't handle disagreement that contains substance and I'm just a liberal snowflake that will never be able to cure my mental disorder."
Yes, it is. What happened to the constantly advertised "country of liberty, democracy, freedoms, diversity, the great American justice (and so on)"? Ever since Chump was elected USA became a synonym of homophobia, racism, bigotry, religious fanatism (Jan 6th, Capitol, among other examples), it became a crime to choose what to do with your own body (the recent ruling of the USSC). I wouldn't be surprised if soon all transgender people in America become "criminals" bc their transition is acclaimed to be illegal. America may have changed the president but clearly the US Supreme Court and many government officials are still on Chump's payroll.
What's even worse, many Americans now think that arming the whole nation will fix their problems when in fact it will make them worse. When 230 million people are armed to the teeth, they'll start killing each other over petty things. Why no European countries ever came with news of a school shootout with victims? Not even the "third world countries" (as you Americans call my country)? Because here and in Europe only certain individuals can own a gun and usually they have been mentally evaluated and/or are working either for the police, or for the army. Sure, criminals do have guns but they don't mix up with the regular people and even they have some kind of feeling for responsibility and don't wave it out for anything and everything. That's why our kids manage to grow and go to school without being shot by mentally unstable class mates who were able to buy guns as easily and unchecked as they buy ice cream.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's been going backwards since the early 90's when gangster rap music culture started to take over and gang warfare shit became popular. The whole bullshit about "disrespecting someone" went mainstream and it became tough and acceptable to shoot someone or bust them in the face because they called you a name, or something you didn't like.
Kids born in 80's and beyond who grew up with that and video game violence all the time learned to think of violence as a solution. Add to that the political polarization started by Newt Gingrich, the parents of these kids accepted the idea that compromise is weakness, and you don't have to accommodate 49.99% of people if you're part of the 50.01% majority.

It is wrong. Absolute violence as an answer started with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If you knew anything of gang culture or history you'd know that type of behavior started way earlier with bikers and griesers and even small neighborhood gangs fighting with knives and chains. Never seen Westside story or rebel without a cause?
Also videogames have been proven repeatedly to lower aggression and show no evidence of desensitization.
Instead of blaming everyone else maybe take a look at your own generation and those before. As they say "shit rolls down hill".
Opinion Owner+1 y@SmokyOne It's nice to have your own theories, even when they don't make a lot of sense. " Absolute violence as an answer started with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki." This statement is ridiculous. Totally, absurdly, ridiculous. Since time began, absolute violence was a commonplace solution, from the caves, through the Middle Ages, on every continent in the world.
Opinion Owner+1 y@SmokyOne
Video games have been proven REPEATEDLY to lower aggression? NO evidence of desensitization? Bullshit. More utter bullshit.
"“The research demonstrates a consistent relation between violent video game use and increases in aggressive behavior, aggressive cognitions and aggressive affect, and decreases in prosocial behavior, empathy and sensitivity to aggression,” says the report of the APA Task Force on Violent Media."
One of the most respected, if not THE most respected study sources - The Pew Foundation - has this to say:
"Studies have shown that playing violent video games can increase aggressive thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in both the short-term and long-term.[2] Violent video games can also desensitize people to seeing aggressive behavior and decrease prosocial behaviors such as helping another person and feeling empathy (the ability to understand others). The longer that individuals are exposed to violent video games, the more likely they are to have aggressive behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. These effects have been seen in studies in both Eastern and Western countries. Although males spend more time than females playing violent video games, violent video game exposure can increase aggressive thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in both sexes."
I've got hundreds more studies that conclude the same thing, though I'm sure you can focus on the one or two that conclude what you want to hear.
Early gangs at least had a code. My point is today's kids are codeless, and the drop of a hat is disrespectful which results in violence. By the way, you're 32, I'm 36. Same generation.
You're entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.
- +1 y
“Our new meta-analysis found that the evidence base was not sufficient to make the conclusions outlined in the 2015 report,” said Christopher J. Ferguson, lead author on the new paper and a professor of psychology at Stetson University. “We found that violent video games do not appear to be linked to aggression.”
When Ferguson and his colleagues reexamined the data used in the earlier meta-analysis, they found that it did not include most of the existing studies of video games and violence and failed to take quality issues into consideration.
“Studies that are well designed, such as those using standardized and well-validated aggression measures, almost never find evidence for negative, violent effects,” said Ferguson. “Our new meta-analysis also illustrates the need to focus on well-designed studies when researching the impact of violent media.”
You could at least do better than to quote the most ridiculous study. 🙄
Government backed on top of it.
I'd love to see hundreds of credible reports, peer reviewed, published reports. Don't worry, I'll wait.
I'm really not cherry picking my facts, I've read countless studies so you can't gaslight me here. Maybe try a few that aren't nearly a decade old.
The code early gangs had were designed purely for the benefit of the ranking members. When push comes to shove those codes dissolved in favor of self preservation. Gangs today aren't any more violent they're just lacking guidance and don't understand the value of keeping shit unseen.
Violence existed from the caves and onward you're right, however when we dropped the bombs the world was forever changed. Never before had destruction of that magnitude been unleashed. The world changed instantaneously. So yea, I think that is the start. I also think you'd be hard pressed to find any other moment in history with as much gravity in regards to how violence is perceived.
Opinion Owner+1 y@SmokyOne The government does not fund the Pew Foundation. Nor was the study ridiculous. You are on the wrong side of this. If you just exercised common sense, you would know that violence in video games among young, impressionable minds, actually does desensitize them. How could it not? But that's not even the crux of my argument. Your citing studies that are 7 years old. Mine was 5 years old, so your point about it being "nearly a decade old" applies more to you. Or were you absent that day in basic math?
And learn your terminology. WTF does gaslighting have to do with any of this? I'm not trying to manipulate you into thinking your insane, I'm just telling you I believe your associations are ridiculous. I think they're unfounded and without merit. I didn't say you were insane.
Anyway, nice talk. See you next question.

Opinion Owner+1 y@aquariusmystery Indeed it is, one of our greatest advantages is our system of federalism which grants we the people not just 1 but 2 different votes. A ballot to make laws as a collective, and feet to defend ourselves from the most intolerable of those laws.
The Federal constitution was created to be a constitution of "Few and defined" powers of a forign nature to defend theses key rights.
Any act by Washington whether it be by the president, congress, or 5+ unaccountable men in black robes robs us of those rights. No matter how desirable the policy might be its not worth it. Better to just vote with your feet if that policy is so important to you then lose the right to vote at all on it.- +1 y

I am an outsider, I live in the UK and rarely even travel to the US, but it does appear that a push in certain directions has reached a tipping point. As @OlderAndWiser wrote, "When the pendulum swings far in one direction, guess what happens next!".
The political system you have there is a mess, and until all the politicians get their heads out of the backsides and start actually working for the needs of the many instead of the needs of the few then nothing will change.
But, look further afield and you've actually got it good. Look at China, Russia, many of the Middle Eastern and African nations, when you do that then I think maybe we're all screwed and I should just go and move to a self sufficient island in the middle of the South Atlantic.
When it comes down to it we have only got ourselves to blame. We need to vote, we need to pressure the politicians to do what is right and not what gives us short term gain.10 Reply8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes and no. As a wise man once said, legislation dont drive change. Meaning that trying to force a change in society by for example banning abortion will not make people be against abortion. While they can control the supreme court temporarily and force through these changes they are very unlikely to last or change the course of time.
In 20 years I doubt USA would be in a different place regardless if Abortion became illegal or not. It is simply not realistic to stand against change when you are in the minority for any length of time. I see this more as a desperate attempt of a group that is losing power to lash out at the last minute before they go under. Like how the US civil war was the last struggle to keep slavery legal. It is ultimately futile.10 Reply

But they could just as easily and likely have done something you disagreed with, and redone it on a case by case basis thus making it impossible for anyone to have any kind of security never knowing if they were ever violating any law.
This is why they invented the concept of the rule of law which was written down, passed by a deliberate legislative process involving everyone and left for the public to read and understand.
The fact is the common constitution which we all agreed to was suppose to create a FEDERAL government of only "Few and defined" powers of a forign nature.
It was not suppose to address almost ANY issue of a domestic nature, instead leaving said issues to the different states for the people to vote on both with their ballots as a collective to make laws and if need be there feet as individuals to liberate themselfs from the oppressive laws.
This was the beauty of the American system that created liberty for all people. As well good as "Loving v. Virginia" court edict may it wasn't the act of 5 dictators not judge overthrowing the rule of law so in a few states people could have something that they could easily have had simply by voting with their feet or ballots if they wanted.
The cost of that act was in fact both of those freedoms to vote.
Sad too, if they had just waited a few more years the people of Virginia too would have repealed their inter-racial marriage law. So you traded democracy and the liberating freedom to vote with your feet for a few years of a right you could have had any where else.

+1 yIt's been going backwards for a long time, like my entire life. It's decline has seriously accelerated over the last 15 years or so. A quick partial solution would be to turn off the entire Internet. Just shut it down. Then if we are lucky things might get back more on an even keel. The Internet is tearing society apart.
20 Reply It's only because of political gridlock. Sweden has the same issue, even though our parliament is more ideologically diverse.
We just recently had budget votes, and before that there was a no-confidence vote on the Minister of Justice, and even before that the NATO application. All of these were decided by an independent (in Sweden referred to as a "wildcard") candidate.
A wildcard politician is someone who has left, or been disch, from the party's group of representatives - in any assembly - during the term. They are only eligible for re-election if they still are a member of the party as a whole, which may or may not be the case.00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Having lived and worked in America it is only certain Cities/States of America that are going backwards even though they are being run by a 'Progressive' Political Party. That same party will still allow Abortion on demand with little thought being given to promoting the use of the 30+ methods of birth control that women in those Cities/States have access too,
Even though Abortion has NOT been banned but the decisions on its use has been returned to the individual states and there is no reason to think that black, gay, disabled etc rights will ever be affected in any way as the repeal of Roe Vs Wade was a one issue case and had nothing to do with anything outside of that issue.00 Reply"America" has always been backwards. They don't even use the metric system, and still figure out the temperature using the archaic Fahrenheit scale! Their health system sucks, and they don't even have adequate public transportation in most of their cities. In some states (ex. Texas) they still execute people.

They got screwed by automation and globalization, and along with the social change of the past 30 years it was all too much. Neither party did much to help them. When the Democrats tried, the Republicans blocked it.

+1 yNo, going backwards is the erasure of women as a concept by declaring that anyone, with a mere word, can be a woman. That men who are 6'4" can compete in sports with women who are 5'0" as long as they grow their hair out and put on some makeup. Going backwards is trying to create "black only" spaces like they had in the 1960s. Going backwards is claiming that housing is a "human right", but being allowed to be born isn't. Going backwards is trying to tear down the Bill of Rights that was carefully crafted by our founders to ensure that no government would ever become powerful enough to oppress us. THAT'S going backwards. What we are doing is trying to go forwards again.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ywell, nope. I'd say for the first time in a while, we're moving forward. Dems have been saying for a while that the "slippery slope" doesn't exist but now all the mainstream media parrots use the same exact fear-mongering bullshit to pedal their lies about everything that may or may not ever happen because the Supreme Court put the decision back where it belongs--in the hands of individual states. They also just gave people in New York the right to protect themselves with guns. For decades, mainly the criminals and the wealthy were permitted to have access to concealed carry in that state, which has seen exponential rises in violent crimes. Now a father can protect his children instead of being forced to watch, being held at gunpoint as his family is butchered before his eyes. I call that a BIG step forward for human rights.

there has never been a legit federal law directly regarding abortion on the books. but now because since it's become a hot topic recently states are finally making laws for it.00 Reply

At this point I'm disappointed and embarrassed to be American! SAD! smh!

I get you some British lobotomite that can't think for yourself without some multi-national corporation doing that for you, but you could fucking read shit for yourself? This was a matter of states rights which the Federal government overreached. Maybe we shouldn't blindly go forward off a cliff.

+1 yIt is going from broad "federal government" laws to localized "state government" law. Individual states could give homosexuals and minorities even MORE RIGHTS than they currently have from the federal government. And some states will reduce those rights. How each state goes depends on their elected representatives (governor, state senate, state house). So, one side is going to whine, bitch and moan because they lose the election. But it is their own fault for not running a better candidate!

in Eu you can't Murder the kid just cuz you can't keep your legs closed and have unprotected sex without any contraceptive and then didn't bought the Plan B next day...
The vast majority of protest are not about Rape victims or Medical conditions, its about the right to murder someone's kid as you please, whenever you want with zero consequences... ITS BANNED IN EU DARLING !
Nobody with their sane mind is against abortion for Rape victims and Medical necessity... vast majority like 99% of abortions are not done for above mentioned reasons either. They are done to punish their significant other after breakup or lack of responsibility like using contraceptive.
So YEAH abortion... which US WOMAN WANT and are protesting for is banned in Eu and majority of the world.- +1 y

My native Czechia is pro choice, and Czechia is part of the EU. Also Europe doesn't represent the entire world. It'd be far better to say that Africa is against abortion as most of its countries have negative views towards it. Same with the Middle East. Actually, Europe and Asia, in sheer numbers, are actually very pro choice. So is Australia.

01 Reply- +1 y
a woman is not qualified to pick if another person's life is wroth living or not. your pessimistic interpretation of having a child that is unwanted isn't warranted. there is a waiting list to adopt kids a mile wide (as in people waiting to do the adopting) and most are upper class
these kids will have great lives

@jcampbell115 not banned, sent back to the state legislatures do the people of the several states can have their will heard and acted on locally. In the US, powers not explicitly listed in the federal constitution are reserved to the states, Nothing was taken, but a lot of opportunities for individual voices to be heard were created. Just because you don’t like what those voices said doesn’t mean anything was taken away. If you don’t like it move. I’ll be moving my family the instant I find a job out of state after graduate school.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yNot really--no. There are plenty of problems that should be solved through the legislative process where we've been overly reliant on the courts. The overturn of Roe means we'll do what we always should have done--get to a legislative solution (or solutions). Now, this COULD have been done any time in the last 49 years, but it wasn't. So now it has to be done and there'll be some short term disruption until then, but we'll get to a good place.
