Why can't American's elect a President who is competent and coherent?

Look the greatest country in the world and you can't even get anyone better than Joe Biden? Honestly, what happened to American's did their education system just fall off a cliff so people can't make rational intelligent decisions? I guess the most important reason is, the people can only choose between the two people of the two major parties.

BUT these two people are elected or nominated beforehand and this excludes the majority of candidates from being part of the vote.

So you got no choice to either Vote

J. Biden or D. Trump, or
H. Clinton or D. Trump, or
B. Obama or whoever ran against him...

You only got these two choices.

And the next thing is, with all the devide between the two political parties 30%~40%~50% of the population will hate the president for being a moronic stupid piece of shit, soley based on his political party.

Voters vote for the candidates most similar to them. If the politicians are morons, it means that the electorate is made up of morons. Nothing more, nothing less.
Americans have rarely voted smart people after Carter. After him the presidents have always been charismatic in some way but tendentially with an average intelligence, no matter what internet pages say that attribute amazing intelligence to POTUS.
