Cuz out constitution never anticipated the rise of political parties cuz the "founders" were not dieties but fallable men who MADE SIGNIFICANT mistakes and assumptions and left us with a paradigm of gridlock, paralysis, extremists, anti-majoritarian, incredibly difficult to amend suicide pact. This is the logical result of when the smaller units of govt. (States) Create the federal govt. It's a unresolvable paradox

The extremes in the party choose the candidates. Modertate voters don't have enough power, and independent voters are pretty much shut out.

Here's how it should work: Every candidate from both parties and third parties are on the ballot on the same day in every state in a general primary. The top two candidates go on to compete in November.

Eliminate party primaries all together.
