Is anyone else here planning on leaving the country because of Roe V. Wade being overturned?

Okay me and my wife have talked about leaving the U. S. and moving to Toronto because of Roe being overturned. Me and her both devastated by it and also we both feel that gay marriage is going to get overturned soon as well. We both live in NYC and her tubes are tied and I got a vasectomy so we don’t have to worry about getting pregnant but we just feel that the U. S. is turning way to conservative. I mean it’s a shame that women are now going to be forced to have sex less because out of fear of getting pregnant and that she may not be able to get access to birth control. Me and my wife are both extremely sexual and can’t imagine what it would be like to not be able to fuck freely. We both are looking at jobs in Toronto and are hoping to move as soon as we can and denounce our citizenships

I'd say "that line of reasoning suggests that you're not mentally competent to do so", but that would require there to be a throughline of reasoning at ALL, other than "I don't like conservatives". It's the equivalent of worrying about anti-government sentiment, and in response moving to North Korea.

One of the freedoms you have in the US is the freedom to leave if you want. Not everyone can do that, think back to East Germany and the Berlin Wall.

One thing I don't get though. You, and others, are now saying that women will have less sex. Aren't you aware that the 1960s was the time of rampant open sex yet that was before Roe v Wade?

I'm not in the US but if I was I wouldn't leave the country because of that. Immigration is never easy, it's not something that you can do quickly and it's never cheap.
Also if I was an US citizen I wouldn't renounce my citizenship.

If one minor setback, where the federal government basically decided it wasn’t under their jurisdiction and it was a states issue, while you’re living in a state that’s likely to expand abortion access and loosen restrictions… then you’re probably way too far left for America.
