3.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Probably not. In fact, most Americans, although they have an opinion on the issue of abortion, tend not to be that strongly opinionated about it. As one wag put it, "Americans are opposed to abortion except in cases of rape, incest and me."
Fun fact: In the recent election for Governor in Virginia, 60% of those who identified themselves as "pro-choice" voted for the pro-life Republican candidate. Frankly, the abortion issue simply does not carry, the current headlines notwithstanding, as much weight with the American public as more immediate issues like inflation, education, crime, etc.
Bottom line, while there is a segment on both sides of the question who are very intense about abortion and who will make it their top priority, issues like the economy, crime, taxes and for those women who have or want children, the education system tend to be better predictors of electoral outcomes.. Abortion is not a front line consideration for most Americans and it will, on the whole, whatever their theoretical views, not likely have a direct impact on their lives and they will vote accordingly.
So there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth and then the general pattern, perhaps after a short interval, will likely resume. The truth being that the volume of the abortion debate is inversely proportional to the degree to which most Americans believe it will impact their lives.

+1 yThat he's a moron. Overturning Roe V Wade didn't remove ANY rights; it made abortion decisions determined by the states, which they (arguably) should've been in the first place. Generally speaking, blue state inhabitants were unaffected by the overturning, since those states WOULDN'T ban abortion, since that's a pillar of Democratic belief. So the people who are most upset about it are those who probably would've voted Democrat ANYWAY- for the Presidency, at least.
The really strange thing is that it happened during HIS administration, and while he may not be aware of it, he's not a Republican. It's VERY strange that so many people think this was a purely political decision. Yes, Trump *appointed* some of the justices that voted for it, and the Supreme Court at the time was 6-3 appointed by Republicans, but SO WAS THE COURT THAT RULED ON ROE V WADE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

What exactly are all these women protesting about? What do they want? A more convenient place to get an abortion instead of making the trek to another state? I am getting more confused everyday; between Biden's lies and these out of control screaming, violent women I have lost track. - +1 y

Sage,
C'mon, man, even the left wing media is turning on Joey. The word on the street is that after the red wave comes, Joey will be coming down with a strange illness by this coming Christmas. We all know what happens to useful idiots, in the end.

Roe Vs Wade should never have been passed in the first place. The 60's were a very politically disturbed time.
Jefferson said it best, the Federal Government should NOT be making laws that are the purview of the States. He wanted Small Federal Government. I agree10 Reply3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Hopefully people will believe in the Constitution and not into challenging the Supreme Court when their decisions are based on the Constitution.
I just hope that we end up with at least a balance of power in November!
Then maybe we can have the Biden family put under the microscope.

+1 yHe is retarded. Wait until he says inflation is down and mommy buys milk for $5 a gallon and last week it was $3.50 a gallon. Only reason gas prices have stalled is because China stopped buying energy from US. India is cutting back from US. Countries are not buying US debt anymore. This thing is going South in a hurry. Dow and Nasdaq continue to crash. If he could get back 3 trillion lost in Dow and 401 K's , maybe Democrats would do better.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yBiden's been raw dogging the country ever since he got into office. I'm hoping the American people are smart enough to see that and stop voting for people who "support" his policies. Personally, I'm not a big fan of $6 gas while he sells OUR oil to foreign countries, and I think that will go a longer way with voters than the false promises he will continue to make.

+1 yNewsflash. Most Americans are MUCH more pissed off about hyperinflation and the economy than abortions. Inflation started going up the moment Biden took office.

+1 yEven if the Democrats retain power and pass a "federal abortion law", it probably would be challenged in court.
Overturning Roe gave States the power to determine their own abortion laws. Therefore, I assume based on that ruling, a federal would not stand up in court!!!

@exitseven you would think Biden would think the same thing. However, he thinks all these women protesting about Roe vs Wade will seal the deal for the Dems in November. Doesn't he realize these same women notice how expensive food, gas, and everything is each time they go to purchase anything. I just cannot believe he would think the abortion thing would trump inflation and they will get the votes to win. He makes speaches that if the Rebublicans win, that they will be stuck forever with the decision the Supreme court justices decided. And he sounds like he is trying to scare these women to get the votes. He is a stupid and desperate man.

@exitseven and he also said if the Republican's win the hat they won't be able to get abortions. What?

From what I gather, the November election is based on two things - Democrats on abortion, Republicans on inflation. Which party do you think will win?
