PETA basically got involved in a scandal in my country by first taking images of animal abuse inside one of the livestock farms of one of the biggest meat groups of the country (they have two sites in the US too) and then trying to blackmail the corporation with it. The corporation did not fold because the so-called proof actually came from a livestock farm in Caracas. When that happened and the company rightfully sued, one of the guys from PETA basically thought it's be wise to threaten the President's daughter, whose husband had been killed by ISIS in the Dacca attack, by saying she and her daughter should be cut open like pigs. Guy is in jail now.

Exactly. The most lurid thing is that he said this while referring to the way ISIS had killed this woman's husband years prior.

I never saw the videos in motion, just frames. My wife had watched one back when it was hot news. We were stupid teenagers and she liked to show me gore/horror stuff to make me cringe, but on the beheading videos she just went "nope nope nope".

Yeap, I shoot one deer and I'm a murderer. They kill thousands a year, and they see themselves as saints.

I've hunted and trapped for years now. I couldn't even hold a candle next to their yearly body count.

Exactly. But most organizations like them are massive hypocrites. I haven't hunted in years, but I don't see anyone who hunts or has a cat or a dog, as murderers and oppressors. I have two cats and they have a far better life than the stray or wild ones.

I usually kill maybe, 30 or so animals a year unless I can bag a moose. But over 1,000 a year? You'd be considered a poacher here for that if it was wild game

It can be yeah. They're bullet sponges, ornery and will hunt your ass down. Nothing is quite as terrifying as being caught unaware right when a 1,200lb moose charges you at 30mph.

For them, I prefer a rifle. I don't want to be anywhere near it if I can help it.

Deer is my staple for food. If I don't bag a moose, I usually have to bag at least 6 deer a year to keep us fed and especially through the winter.
