+1 yNurse here. I work in a large midwestern hospital's MICU. As of yesterday, my hospital had a total of 29 COVID patients, 5 of which are in my ICU. The others are distributed among ICU step-down units and other floor units.
Cases that require hospitalization are lower now. More people are vaccinated than before. But I am hearing of so many friends and friends of friends and family members getting COVID. They aren't being hospitalized though from what I am hearing.
I will always encourage people to get their vaccinations if they haven't already or keep up on their boosters. COVID is still more than capable of putting you in the hospital or worse. As for masks? I wore my mask whenever I was indoors up until the end of last year. I think you can wear them if it makes you feel more safe and comfortable or if you suspect you may be infected.

@Shamalien What exactly do you mean by that?
- +1 y
Precisely what I said. It doesn’t matter that you think you are doing the right thing, you are scaring people into taking a substance that will permanently injure them. You may never admit what you’ve done to yourself, let alone anyone else, but that doesn’t change the truth. The truth that right now, the most vaccinated countries have the biggest uptick in excess mortality and drop in birthrates. And all these cardiac issues in young people, athletes dropping like flies, all these stupid news articles about how cardiac issues in young people are normal or because of solar flares, dogs, gardening, have you seen the shit in the news lately? Such a joke. Would be funny if the punchline wasn’t death of the innocent
- +1 y
@Shamalien Ummmm... My entire career is providing healthcare to seriously ill individuals. We have regular meetings in my unit to discuss treatments for specific issues. We have not heard anything about any of what you said. The COVID vaccinations are not harmful...
I'm sorry that you believe otherwise. - +1 y
@Shamalien You have no idea what nurses actually do do you? In some settings, nurses may do that, but I have a lot more responsibility and sway with the physicians than you think in my setting. And we are taught to question physician orders in case they are unsafe and to understand the reason for that order and treatment.
Nice try though. - +1 y
@Shamalien 10s of thousands of doctors? Okay... sure bud. And yes, I did question the vaccine, but there have been no studies showing any dangers of receiving the vaccine.
- +1 y
@Shamalien I think you need to look in the mirror before you continue to push your theories upon other people without even a hint of listening to something other than yourself.
- +1 y
Oh just flip it around anytime someone points the finger at you, that’s a great way to self examine eh? I worked in the most liberal hospital in the western hemisphere when covid hit, I’ve heard all sides of this argument, ALL SIDES, where as you have only heard one. Why did phizer try to hide it’s clinical trial data for 75 years? Did you read what was released when a higher court in America forced this corrupt corporation’s hand?
NOPE, because you just “know” better, ya? - +1 y
@Shamalien I'm just flipping it when you are being extremely accusatory. Be civil and I won't need to flip it.
I don't know better. It is what I have seen and what I have read. If I didn't understand that the vaccines are safe, I would not encourage those to get them. If I didn't think they were effective, I wouldn't encourage anyone to get them.
If reproducible evidence is provided to me that I am wrong, I will gladly admit it and change my ways. I have a feeling that you cannot say the same. - +1 y
I just want to say that I have seen absolutely no proof that the COVID vaccine is unsafe. For those of you reading this thread, the other user here seems to be a fan of conspiracy theories. I would highly suggest doing your own research and understanding that his viewpoint is biased.
- +1 y
I don't know wtf they are teaching you these days, but here’s a thought: I don’t have to prove it’s unsafe, YOU HAVE TO PROVE IT IS SAFE, that is how medicine is supposed to work!!! FOR REALLY OBVIOUS REASONS!!!
Ignore everything I mentioned about phizer and the hidden trial data, don’t read it, it will hurt your brain - +1 y
@Shamalien @SecretsofKB to each their own. I feel like whoever decides to get it can. I personally choose to wear my mask at work still because I don't intend to get the vaccine but want to continue being cautious as I have people coming near me. I feel like the vaccine has helped yes but we don't know if it may have any long term effects or anything since it came out so fast. Like I said I choose not to get vaccinated. I have heard though that certain people who have gotten have gotten worse in other areas. Overall it's a personal choice but I appreciate everyone's input on this.
- +1 y
@Shamalien Who is Phizer? Or do you mean Pfizer? It isn't nitpicking, but it doesn't add to your trustworthiness.
I am going to end this conversation here. You won't budge and I will not budge. Let's just leave it at this. - +1 y
Here is the difference between us: I give both sides of the argument an equal chance. I’ve had in depth conversations with those on both sides. I read msm and medical publications as well as whistleblowing docs and nurses calling out the danger of these shots. Why won’t you read the pfizer clinical trial data they tried to hide for 75 years? Why would they hide it for 75 years? Ever hear of a vaxx being approved this fast before?
- +1 y
@Shamalien I gave your point of view a chance a very long time ago when it was brought up by someone that isn't you. I realized then that there was no data to support any suggestion that it was unsafe and the same rings true now.
I have no idea giving opinions a chance. I just have decided that I am not going to give YOURS a chance. I remember you from my MyTake and I have consistently seen you on here being rude with your point of view on any number of subjects.
- +1 y
@Shamalien Hahaha. Okay. I'll read them.
But I will always stand by my assessment of your character. You've been rude to me since our first interaction.

We’ve gotten all the effort we’re ever going to get out of most people. It’s time concede to the idea that it’s bigger than us and that it’s likely just here to stay.
02 Reply- +1 y
it will stay her for a long time, just have to keep taking precaution for it
- +1 y
ok so then eventually they can declare the global pandemic part over right?
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yWhile there’s no doubt the virus is real, I believe someone did this on purpose. Never have I seen a vaccine pushed so hard. Why? Because they’re concerned about our health? If that’s the case give free insulin, free hypertension medication, chemo, etc. Why not give people who really need help money instead of sending it to Ukraine. Eventually something else will come up again. To my knowledge from reading your antibodies from these so-called vaccines only last 3-4 months, after that your basically back to being non vaccinated. I don’t think we should be wearing mask. Honestly they’re probably more dangerous for our health especially if you work in the medical field wearing these mask for 8-16 hours a day.

+1 yHow much time do you NEED? You'll get Covid, you'll briefly be sick, you'll almost certainly recover just fine. That much was always inevitable. The whole POINT of all the delaying tactics was to keep the rate of spread low enough that the hospital system wouldn't be overwhelmed. And it wasn't; the disease turned out to be MUCH less dangerous than initially feared. All of those emergency-assembled structures and expanded hospital zones are gone; most without seeing more than a handful of patients, if any.
What do you hope to DO by delaying infection, besides crippling the capacities of newborn babies and infuriating deaf and autistic people?

The virus is still out there and it doesn't care if we're vaccinated or not. Besides vaccines are not 100% effective so no one is free from getting sick.
Of course if Covid is here to stay like other diseases we will come to point where we will no longer need to wear them. Hopefully it will become a mild virus that doesn't kill. But I don't think that we already got to this point. In my opinion it's too soon to take them off.20 Reply

Oh, I see. I have worn them on the plane and in Asia. I mostly work from home but was traveling during heights of COVID. A room in a vacation tropical country was a USD $2.00 a night not even 6 months ago…. It has been a crazy time and hopefully we are finished with this kind of thing…
- +1 y
Yeah I mean it's not gone and I have been hearing a lot of people vaccinated or not are still getting it or going to the hospital. So better to be safe than sorry

+1 yThe majority of people who are still not vaccinated are old people that have been brainwashed by conservative media. And those people are also the most vulnerable to getting killed by Covid. I know some people will say "They deserve it". But those old people are usually somebody's grandma/grandpa and they don't want them to die.
12 Reply- +1 y
I'm 33 and not vaccinated. I don't feel brainwashed. I do agree older people and ones with health issues should get it
- +1 y
If you're not vaccinated then you're part of the problem. Get the vaccine you brainwashed conservative nut!
+1 yyeah the new wave is much more sneakier and is slipping in way too easily, this virus just keeps improvising, we'll never have a total victory over it, maybe an armistice, the end of the pandemic whenever that comes, will be an ending without an ending,
00 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, it will never go away, and wearing a mask unless done properly, which virtually no one does, really don't make much of a difference.
Neither does getting vaxed or vaxed and boosted.
Our EMS call are running 50/50 between non vaxed vs vaxed/vaxed and boosted with people getting the vid.00 Reply

01 Reply- +1 y
oh yes, plus if it's not enforced it's good. I mean with the heat we are having here it's even hotter wearing one
- 8.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yNo, masks never did anything! In fact, more mask wearers died than non-mask wearers. Besides, what's to keep it from getting into your eyes?
And, there's a;ready a number of cures for it so, it's no longer anything to worry about.

+1 yYou should probably wear them in high traffic indoor public areas like mass transit or hospitals, the mall etc.
Honestly though it should be left up to individual discretion unless the hospitals are overflowing.10 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I strongly believe wearing masks and getting the jab is bad for your health, so I don't think so.

anyone encouraging these things, you will pay
12 Reply- +1 y
I mean people have different opinions. They encourage because they don't want people to get hit so hard with it, and it makes sense. Others like myself don't want to get a vaccine for it
You never should have worn a mask, and you definitely shouldn't have been a subject in the COVID mRNA vaccine experiment.
