I personally think that banning abortion is wrong. Women need their rights.
In most places, abortion may only take place when the patient's life is at risk. Yeah, so what?

I think abortion is wrong but banning abortion is the wrong way to go about making abortions happen less often.
True.

Conservatives can’t stand not having power over women so they’re trying hard. They think they’re winning but they’re really just provoking another rebellion. This deliberate disrespect to a women isn’t going to be tolerated.
Feminism has failed in the fight for abortion rights because it has been so dishonest in its approach. Feminists have framed abortion rights as being about women's "bodily autonomy", but that's not what it's about at all. The vast majority (95%) of women who choose abortion do so for reasons like bad timing, not wanting a child to interfere with plans for career or education, not being in a financial position to support a child, not being in a good relationship with the father, etc... nothing to do with bodily autonomy and everything to do with personal autonomy and a woman's right to choose her future. Having a baby is a huge change and responsibility, and women deserve the right to that choice.
But the problem is... all those reasons for choosing abortion are the very same ones a man might have for not wanting the responsibility of a child. But feminists can't say that because it lets the elephant into the room... which is men's right to choice. Women have not had nearly as much support from men in their fight for choice as they would have if they supported men's right to choice, in the form of a "paper/financial abortion".
Until feminists start showing some honesty in this issue (and so many other issues) they are not going to have the support of many men, and without that support they are going to continue to fail.
Indeed, feminism has failed. We see it happening more and more every day. The foundation of support on which feminism has relied in recent decades is crumbling before our eyes, among both men and women. Feminism as it has existed in the last few decades is over. The dishonesty and gynocentrism that has characterized feminism is no longer acceptable. Any gender movement that focusses entirely on the needs of one sex (i. e., feminism, MRA) will fail, as feminism has. We need an entirely new and different approach to gender issues that cares about and supports BOTH sexes. Until we achieve that, the divide between men and women will continue to deepen, and the anger and hostility will continue to grow, which helps no one.
I think it's idiotic to be taking this seriously and just proves how those on the right are really no more intelligent than those on the left and that MOST human beings are really, really, REALLY f*ckin' dumb.
The government and politicians have been manipulating people with meaningless hot-button issues like this FOR YEARS, all while they use them to steal away rights and liberty from people while they argue with each other over this pointless BS, and people STILL f*ckin' fall for this sh*t. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they repeal gay marriage in 2023... Ironically still under Biden's administration, yet they won't blame Biden for it anyway like they do when stuff happens under a Republican president like COVID.
I'm pro-choice and don't agree with them essentially banning abortion in most of America for pointless, asinine, and retarded emotional reasons that don't affect any of those pro-life involved in ANY way, but I also get how easily manipulated people are by any stupid-ass hot button issue. That's why I assure you gay marriage will be repealed next year so we can all fight about utter nonsense again.
And by the way, the LOGICAL compromise would be to just make abortions legal up until the third trimester. As in, anything before five to six months is legal, but beyond that is unjustified (because you could just C-section it out by then and it's actually developed enough to call a "baby" by then and can survive outside the womb). But that would, you know, not involve most people being over-emotional assholes who can't put aside their arbitrary differences for the good of everyone. Everyone's gotta to take one extreme or the other.
Here’s the problem that neither you or the left want to hear, but need to hear. Most people are reasonable. The majority of people could agree that if continuing a pregnancy that a woman would die then it’s not reasonable to ask her to sacrifice her life. Most people would believe that in the case where the baby would never survive or has passed away in the womb that there’s a reasonable justification for abortion at that point.
Many people would probably agree that in the cases of incest and rape, it’s also acceptable to make exceptions to the ‘no abortion’ belief.
Even fewer, but many would believe that abortion 0-12 weeks (ironically where most of the liberal European countries make their laws) is acceptable.
Women still have “their rights”. The difference is whether you believe that right extends to killing someone else.
However, the left in the United States has gone outrageously extreme demanding abortions at will. They won’t even make a stand that abortion while the child is in the birth canal is wrong. They can’t bring themselves to make a moral stand. They call unborn children ‘parasites’, ‘inhuman’, and won’t recognize that almost 90% of abortions are purely for convenience.
It’s THEIR fault that this debate has gotten so polarized. When you become unreasonable, then you can expect equal push back.
Those are some good points.
@MCheetah thanks for proving my point.
You talk about people being reasonable and then make an argument purely based on moral fagging and subjective "morality," which ironically is exactly what the Left that you hate so much does.
There is no point here in this post because the argument is based on pure emotional opinion and no actual facts or science (the facts and science actually leaning towards pro-choice, but that's neither here nor there). Which is why the abortion debate is so stupid, to begin with. There is no "right answer" here on either side, and the right is more guilty of being polarizing than the left because they're the ones who are more over-emotional and less logical about it.
@MCheetah no, there is objectively and scientifically a human child in a woman’s womb. Nothing else. That child has value, and a right to live. Period.
An Embryo:
Between 5 weeks and 2 months (8 weeks).
"An unborn human or animal in the earliest stages of growth when its basic structures are being formed."
No brain activity.
A Fetus:
Between 2 months and 5 months.
"An unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception."
"The last stage of fetal development is organogenesis, when the organs are formed. Brain activity is minimal and only has basic life support. No cognitive thoughts."
The minimum requirements to be an unborn human baby:
6 months in the womb.
"Reaching week 27 of your pregnancy means you're now in the third and final trimester. While this trimester could end at week 40, in reality it ends whenever your baby is born. A baby is considered to have been born full-term if it is born in weeks 37 to 42 of pregnancy."
According to objective science, a baby isn't a "baby" until the third trimester, or six months into pregnancy. Anything before that is factually NOT a baby. It has the POTENTIAL to become a healthy human baby if everything goes right, but it is an embryo or fetus and not fully capable of living outside of the womb, unlike a C-sectioned unborn baby can at the third trimester.
I looked this up within minutes on Google. But whatever. I'm not here to argue with emotional rants. Just pointing out the lack of science or facts in all the right-wing abortion virtue signaling bullsh*t. Now continue to explain how "reasonable" you are on this stupid argument.
@MCheetah People in the 1800s had scientific evidence that black people weren’t as evolved as white people, so it was perfectly moral to enslave them. Germans in the 1930s had all sorts of scientific evidence that jews weren’t human as well. As far back as the 1950s, it was perfectly ok to shove ice picks through the brains of mentally ill people because they were retards and couldn’t feel pain. People throughout the years have found “scientific” ways to dehumanize and abuse other human beings.
Scott Peterson was tried on two counts of homicide. Funny you’d do that if the baby wasn’t a human.
So kindly fuck right off with your sanctimonious bullshit. It’s funny some dude who cries he’ll never get laid on this website claims to know what it’s like to bring another human being into this world.
@MCheetah chicken eggs you eat are not fertilized. They will never be chickens. God damn now you’re going full retard.
@MCheetah does a chicken egg need to be fertilized in order to grow into a chick? Yes or no?
I never said "it had to be fertilized," genius. I said an egg. A chicken egg.
We've already had this discussion before. There's nothing you can say here to sound intelligent or logical. It's an emotional argument based on nothing beyond feelings. So there's no point in continuing. I just felt the need to point out why you're wrong about your argument having any sense of reason or logic to it.
@MCheetah This is the fucking best part. You pretend you follow “science and logic” but can’t tell me the difference between a fertilized chicken egg and an unfertilized one. You again, proved my point. You’re such a fucking retard you won’t even accept basic biological principles.
@MCheetah thanks for proving you’re an idiot.
@MCheetah lol. Keep trying
@MCheetah @joeldalton lol these are my only notifs
Sorry you had to read @mcheetah ‘s stupidity.
@MCheetah How about if we make slavery legal again?
If you don't like slavery, don't own one!!
Why impose any type of morality on anyone who thinks differently than you.
@BillyBalls
I already explained the abortion argument is retarded, no different than Liberals in their virtue signaling about LGBT stuff, and there's no point in arguing when idiots (not necessarily you) are going to say things like "only reasonable people agree with my straw-hat conservative morality" (The conservatives who believe shooting people in the face is okay cause the Second Amendment, but terminating a 5 week embryo is "murder") and "Science be racist!"
It truly is the conservative "there are more than two genders" argument. I'm done wasting time on arguments based purely on feelings and no science or logic.
@MCheetah @joeldalton @billyballs these are my only notifs lol.
@MCheetah you truly are a retard.
@MCheetah oooh, whatcha gonna do, tough guy?
Abortion has not been banned, it has simply been made an issue for the states to regulate. And as of now, no states have banned abortion. As long as there is always an exception for rape, incest, and for the life of the mother, I’m okay with that! I think the whole “hook-up” culture thing is about to end in some states.
Abortion has not been banned. Roe vs. Wade was overruled, which just means it goes back to the states to decide. And that is very much something that citizens have the right to vote on and that politicians are justified in regulating, since in both cases, it affects the moral fabric of the culture, where citizens' tax dollars go, and the overall stability of the population.
And then of course, as has already been mentioned, the fact that a key question is when life begins.
No worries because I live in England which we cut religions dogmatic laws from our country pretty effectively over the recent years. Therefore there is no debate, it's just abortion is legal and there is no scientific argument why it shouldn't be.
I don’t think it’s too much to ask that I, as a woman, should get to decide for my own uterus.
We are not owned chattel anymore. But it seems that some people just don’t like that and still feel they should have some say in the lives of women they have never even met.
Mem don’t get power of women by getting them pregnant; women get power over men by having their babies. Pro athletes are warned to rinse out condoms or flush them down the toilet because gold diggers will get them out of the trash and try to impregnate themselves.
Both sides are entrenched in ridiculous extremes. I don’t see a two cell zygote as a human. I can’t see aborting at will at seven months when the baby would have a 95% survival rate. And I’m not going to tell a rape victim she has to carry her attacker’s baby.
Abortion was not banned. Unconstitutional Roe vs Wade vas repeled because of violating 10th amendment to constitution.
Now people are to decide wheter they will make abortion legal in their states or not. Some will make it legal and some will make it illegal. Just go and vote for party that fits your beliefs.
I think it's ridiculous watching Republicans stumble over themselves trying to justify why a 10 year old rape victim should give birth to her rapist's baby. The supporters are mainly religious and just plain dumb
The debate is fundamentally about when life starts. Establish that and any abortion after that is murder.
For me it's about State's rights. Each State should have the right to make their own laws. As the Northern Aggressors proved during the Civil War, a federal government that is too powerful will only hurt its own people.
Banning it or restrictions on it are human rights violations.
Pro abortion for myself, pro choice for others. 100% without restrictions.
How about if women actually take control over their reproductive systems and not get pregnant if they don't want a kid?
Or are you saying that women are incapable of doing the adult thing?
Or... People can mind their own business? Or is that too hard to do?
Also, your argument is self-defeating. If people are too reckless, irresponsible, or stupid to avoid getting pregnant, then how TF are they going to be decent parents? You're saying you WANT stupid women to raise a generation of emotionally stunted, f*cked up children who were never loved? Assuming they even survive to adulthood and aren't accidentally killed along the way? And for WHAT reason exactly? Because you "feel like it?" Because, in your opinion, "abortion is murder?"
This still doesn't answer it how it's any of your business what other people choose to do with their lives or how you or anyone has the right to determine who gets to opt out of parenthood or not. By your same logic, you should be required to donate blood, take the COVID vaccine, and have to volunteer 40 hours a year to homeless shelter and abused women programs since we can just throw arbitrary self-righteous, holier-than-thou " 'morality' " out there, and push it onto others through government force based on one's subjective feelings on the matter.
But I digress. You responded to my comment, so I'm responding to yours.
When men can say my wallet my choice we can start having this conversation.
You can thank planned parent hood and psychotic liberals taking it from safe legal and rare to aborting 8 month pregnant babies, thats why they took it away and gave it back to the states
@MzAsh In their mind its not about "restricting a womens right", they view the conceived baby as a human life and don't want it destroyed
Huge victory especially for women in conservative states!
I'll put it this way: if feel as if women are taking away lives via abortion, then frankly, they deserve to have that privilege over life and death within their own bodies.
I care as much about women's "rights" as they care about mine - zero.
I agree with you 100%.
No fetus can beat us.
I think that this is just the beginning
Abortion = murder
