Where I live it is property to include theft and burglary. Lots of them committed by juveniles.

I find Boston to be pretty safe overall. Very little in the way of gun crime, which is awesome. And most of the gun crime, you’re not going to find yourself on the wrong end of it unless you live a certain lifestyle, we don’t have many random shootings here, if any. The majority of the crime is crime against women, sexual assault, and that’s pretty ugly. We have TONS of colleges here too, so I’m guessing a lot of it stems from that, kids partying and getting drunk, men going too far with women. We have the kind of violence I respect: fistfights. I don’t even consider that to be criminal behavior, honestly. But I grew up in one of our hoodsiest hoods, and it really wasn’t that bad at all, unless you ask the suburbanites, but that’s more racist folklore than actually being based in reality. That’s the ugliest thing about my region, it’s very racist for a northern city and a supposedly liberal state. But violent crime rates are generally lower in blue states with strict gun control laws, and we’re a shining example of this.
Pretty insightful to hear that perspective and opinion from Boston. Wanted to head there someday to see a game at Fenway when Ingrt the money and time.
Otherwise the gun bit was interesting to read. I would say your strict gun laws must be well enforced or taken seriously because I live near an infamous city that already has strict gun laws and they fail.
Thanks for sharing @WhiteSteve
I live in Cape Town South Africa. The cops stop people going into places the gangs are fighting until the shooting stops, go in and collect the dead and then fuck off to enforce parking laws
I'd feel safer walking naked through Detroit than in full battle gear a hundred yards from my front door.
I've had a gun put in my face. I've had knives drawn on me. I don't know if I could take them away now the way I did then but I'll try. I ask muggers if my wallet is worth their life.
Oh, and a guy attacked me with a broadsword.
I'll take American crime any day.
... a broadsword. What?
Crime is virtually non-existent around here, the little bits we do get are mostly theft but often resolved by someone asking which neighbor borrowed something without permission and they get it back.
Police do not even need to be called.
Crimes very low around here. Last year they didn't arrest anyone in some towns. www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/.../
In other local places its more rowdy behaviour than proper crime.

I don't live in a crime cities anymore. But growing up in the city i was raised in. it's bad and the crime rate is mostly violent crime and property crime and shootings so the crime rate super high & almost everyone I grew up with dead, in prison or on drugs probably gonna OD or into prostitution or still doing the same dumb shit like there still 15-16 just with kids and maybe one down chick whose ok with bring broke for life with them.
When I moved to Central Cali the crime rate was kinda high violent crimes and shootings & tons of 5150's it's mostly tweakers. Big meth issue there. Like their is hoods but it's not the bangers you watch out for, only the tweakers. But everything north of the city was safe and nice but below is tweakerville.
Now I live in SoCal & where I live now I see no crime I have seen bangers in certain areas and I'm sure theirs crime in the poverty parts but I don't see it or hear about it lol
Well, we are a small community so excluding the "traveling criminals", the local criminals are a finite number. Last month a gang of Russian criminals got rooted out and expelled, and that reduced significantly criminal activity in my jurisdiction.
Two other local habitual criminals, a 48 years old man and a 26 years old woman, are currently doing community service and attending mandatory work courses to pick up a trade. Overall the situation is good.
Pretty bad, it's mostly drugs addict, drug seller and prostitution (drugs addict prostitute themselves to drug seller cause they have no money to buy drugs), there's also lots of illegal invasion of propriety.
Sometime there's murder but that's rare, lots of thief too, they were rape and pedophile was I was a teen and child.
it is really bad. The murder rate is double what it was a couple of years ago. We now have a US Attorney who instead of upholding immigration laws is suing one of the smaller cities because their city government is not diverse enough.
Which city is this?
Fair enough
I live in a small town in England. There's virtually no crime here, it's great. The cities are all sh*tholes.
Technically I live in the county now… Closet cities are about 3.4 times lower than the US average on crime.
Very lucky here, so little crime, petty things like a bike getting stolen once every 2-3 months makes the facebook pages
all crime is bad, it doesn't matter where you live,
I agree, sir. I merely asked the GaG users about their location because we all don't live in the same place.
It’s preventing me from considering a job in the biggest city near me.
Almost non-existent as in a bedroom community outside of Big City.
Not that bad but we had a few riots and stores vandalized by BLM.
Thanks guys! 🖕
the answer is the same as "how much diversity does your city have?"
It's like Gotham City here these days.
just a little bit... lol
Knife crime is getting quite bad in my city.
Violent crime is here in my city too. Doesn't compare to the juvenile delinquents doing property problems though.
I feel like we have more knife crime than property problems. Because a lot of property problems end in knife crime here, last week a kid got slashed in the face.
Refuse to live in a city
depends on the area
