Do you imagine that somehow Trump can control the price of oil? When oil is $100/barrel there's no way to sell gasoline for $2.50/gallon. There are 42 gallons to the barrel, so the oil alone would cost almost $2.50.
@slatyb Assume you are a businessman. You have two presidential candidates, one who supports domestic oil production and one who supports eliminating fossil fuels outright. Which one is better for business? Which one is going to help you make money?
Biden is the president who, on the campaign, said he would end fossil fuels. Regardless of his ability to do so, that is a rallying call to his party, a signal that any bill which includes "ban gas" would get past the executive branch. This perspective that the president is powerless is intentionally blind to what power the president and his appointees have, and to the speculation that come with whatever ideology is in the Oval Office.
Oil companies saw records profits this last quarter because they needed to recoup losses from the CV shutdowns. The shutdowns were front-lined by liberals, blamed on Trump, and were installed hastily and needlessly. Blaming Trump enables democrats to do anything they desire without affecting their voting base.
@TwinTonyz The price of oil isn't high because domestic production is restricted. Oil is sold on the world market. If oil is $100/barrel, it will be $100/barrel wherever it is produced.

That is a very good point. They brought Biden (kind of forced him back) because he was rhe only one who could beat Trump. But truly, he does not have it in him to take this job. I think 70 should be the retiring point for a leader so in that way, at first term election, he should be 60-62 max. This is besides what side you are on.
