Because they're the ones who WANT that overbearing Gov't to take care of them from cradle to grave. It's the leftists, liberals, progressives, Democrats that all believe in Communism and in having Gov't be the end all for their lives.

What they ALWAYS forget is that a Gov't that's big enough to grant you all sorts of freedoms is more than big enough to take them away. Frankly, I like the 2A because it allows me to put fear into those who govern us. Unfortunately, right now, that's not happening. We, as citizens NEED to change that back to "We the people" again in the US.

Probably because they feel the government isn't out to do that and they want to prevent loss of life. They look at what Australia, New Zealand and other countries did that banned or implemented laws to control gun issues and see that since nothing happens there that it is the standard that must be followed.

They don't care about the 2nd amendment and only believe police and military should have control of guns. Combo of dickhead control freaks and well intentioned but misplaced feelings.

They’ve generally decided that security is better than liberty because they haven’t realized they can’t have the former by giving up the latter. The problem is worse than most understand though. Our two-party system is divisive by default. So leftists will never trust a right-leaning administration to offer them their security, and righties won’t trust a left-leaning administration to guarantee our liberties. Our democracy is imploding into fascism. I suspect we’re less than 10 years from losing liberty, security and everything else.
