US constitution, second amendment, right to bear arms... your thoughts?

I highly disagree with it being "disconnected with service in a militia" but its not really important. Why? Because I consider the 2nd amendment (and the 13th) as evidence for why USA is a backwards country soon to be relegated to the 3rd world.

While they are not the biggest problem in America by far, it is still a very clear and telling flaw in your society that reveals a much bigger culture and mountain of problem. To put it bluntly, such things are beneath modern society and has no place here and by extension, neither does you. Of course, you are free to clean up your act anytime you want but considering you just revoked Roe I do not see this happening for quite a while.

You are living in a more barbaric civilization from a more barbaric age.. and it shows.

The second amendment is for shooting politicians who try and take away your freedom. It was never about hunting. That's a commie talking point.

It's called an amendment for a reason. It needs to be changed to bring it up to modern times.

The constitution is a contract. An amendment to a contract has to be agreed upon by parties to said contract. As is outlined in the constitution, the amendment process is to have a 2/3 vote in congress to propose an amendment and a 3/4 of all states must ratify any change to the contract. You should learn some basics of contract law. Contracts don't change with the times. They are iron clad and only change when all agree to change them.

It says arms, not firearms. When it was framed, it was intended to mean any weaponry up to and including the best technology that any military in the world would own. Early American's owned their own battle ships and cannons. Firearms are just a small component of what Americans have a right to own.

Our modern day second amendment understanding was revised back with U. S. Supreme Court on June 26, 2008 to that statement you made. So in the same fashion roe vs wade was overturned, Heller case could just as easily be overturned.
