I doubt it.

The people that go on shooting sprees are not what I would call rational people. I seriously don't think they consider the consequences of their actions. Survival, and escape, likely don't factor into their consiserations, and even if they do, they probably don't expect to get away scott free.

They just seem more interested in causing as much damage/pain as possible, and probably don't care whether they live, or not. I mean, by the time you're damaged enough to shoot up a mall/school/store, etc, you really don't have much to live for, at that point. Hell, some of them would probably rather die, than go to prison, anyway.

Obviously, I don't really know what goes on in their heads, it just doesn't seem like the possibility of getting shot seems like it would be much of a deterrent to those people.

No. It will get worse until the fall. Once it cools down people will spend less time in public places.

Maybe. What attracts these nut jobs to malls is they have signage prohibiting carry of weapons (implies both concealed and open carry). That marks it as a potential killing field for a nut job, just like schools, with less chance for resistance before the shooter is finally stopped. I think what we'll see is more concealed carriers ignoring the signage and carrying in malls anyway. At least in my state, the only thing the mall management or security can do is ask you to leave if they somehow discover you're carrying. Only if you don't comply and leave can they call police or file a complaint.
