How would you deal with this situation?

You are driving on a lonely county road at dusk about 5 miles from the nearest town where you plan to spend the night before continuing your trip. As you drive along, you see a woman standing on the side of the road near a car that is off the road and stopped. She puts her hand up to get your attention as you approach. What do you do?

I keep going and I don't stop - I am not an idiot.

I do stop at a considerable distance away from her, perhaps one or two blocks

I stop the car but not the engine, and then I will wait... in the time that it takes her to make it to my vehicle I'd have enough time to judge and evaluate the surroundings and possibilities as well as consider the capabilities and possibilities

I'm kind of used to this so I am sort of expecting certain things, if I see or notice any of those things I will be in a better position to know what to do

I've been in this situation before a couple of times... and as of now, nothing so bad actually happened, and I know very well that I have to be careful with these things around here, in the middle of cartel lands... lol

and I'm not an idiot... but I've done idiotic things before, that is for damn sure

What I've done in the past is call 911 and report the situation so they send police. Then, I might stop... inform her of that fact, possibly give a ride, but I'm aware sometimes it's a scheme and I use my judgement about the person.

Stop and try to help them with their car, or give them a ride if they need one. And I'd do the same if it were a guy. That's what people in civilised countries do - we're not constantly living in fear that everyone is out to get us, we're not too scared to help a stranger, and we don't need a gun to protect ourselves.

If you're within 20 ft of someone then all you really need is a knife to protect yourself because you can get to them before they can pull off a one second draw if you sprint at the same time they start drawing.

Ehh, devils in the details. But most likely I let her call who she wants, or the police and wait there until they show up. Dont get into situations that can compromise you.

I would ask if she has help coming. If not I would call for her, than I would leave.
