now if we did abolish it it would go back to the way it originally was and Congress would only be allowed to collect sales tax. There would be no income tax that would be no property tax there would be no corporate tax there would be no inheritance tax etc only sales tax would be allowed

We'd see a massive hike in other fees. Want to do business across state lines? Pay. Want to send a letter to another state? Pay. Want a driver's license? Pay. "Wait!" I hear you say "Driver's licenses are STATE programs!". Yeah- but COMMERCIAL driver's licenses aren't- and without THOSE, the whole damn economy collapses.

There are people who can accept "Okay, we'll have to make do with less money" and there are people who work for the federal government, and those circles don't touch AT ALL.

I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. There was property tax, sales tax and taxes on the import and export of goods. I’d be all for it! Especially tariffs; i thought Drumpf had a plan for implementing tariffs again and i think that’s brilliant. End NAFTA & SAFTA, and tax the shit out of every company that has outsourced labor from the US. I’m pretty sure that’s why he backed down. GD corporations run everything. Which, back to the point of the question, is exactly why they won’t end income taxes. That and we’re way too fond of military expansion and interventionism, the whole reason income taxes were started to begin with. I like the idea though! When and where are you running?

You are mistaken about sales tax.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 1:

It would equate to much more spending and opportunity for all. That's why it worked so well for the first 150 years of our nation. Woodrow Wilson however understood just how stupid Americans are. And he worked with the megabanksters to make this happen. And to ensure it would stay in place, he did it under the guise of the 17th Amendment, granting rights to the voters for us to determine our senators. My my, how dangerous Wilson was. Absolutely horrible and most destructive president in U. S. history with the exception of Lincoln.

I’m good with that no bailing out any states. Red or blue if a state spends to much that state goes into bankruptcy. Of course New York and California would be the first 2 states to go bankrupt since due to the pandemic and they way the handled it people are moving out of those 2 states in droves. Red or purple people are running form California and New York like there lives depend on it.

The only welfare thing I support is food stamps and the only government subsidies I support is for farmers because everybody needs to eat rid of everything else no more welfare and on I get rid of Social Security and Medicare as well what the healthcare system be economically competitive
