it was surprising to see anti immigration existed in 1800 century. In a movie someone was yelling at the new immigrants getting off he boat saying “go back to Ireland, America is for americans” I mean some Indian girl I met at the hospital desk was such an anti immigrant. Even Asians are anti immigrants. I bet a lot of black people are the same. I mean everyone is like this? Don’t you think things should change?

I mean, the population has gone up from 60 to 67 million in the UK in the past 20 years. How?

Have they built the extra how many ever million houses required to cope with that surge in population? So no one gives a shit that the existent population's standard of living has appreciably sunk because of the pressure on housing and subsequent rise in prices. Meaning people have less disposable income, are less able to have children, move out, etc.

The particular town I live in seems to have some kind of monetary deal with the central government to be a hotspot of refugees. It's not a particularly integrated culture.

Immigration is not so much of a problem, so much as the rate of it, and the type of immigration you have. It doesn't seem to be particularly educated, and it seems to be a 'flood'.

However, the powers that be are aware of this, all this suits their ends.

Anti immigration at the moment, despite being a socialist Soche believer. We can't take in more refugees in out territory than the quota we established. It's not racism, it's not "patriotism", we simply don't have the resources.

This summer alone we've had two floodings and a forest fire that ate a hill and displaced eleven families. We've got next to no resources to spare, and instead of sending reliefs, the prefecture heckles us to raise our refugee quota. I'm from a leftwing party, and yet got called a xenophobe and a fascist for this.

I have people living in tents right now. My deputy keeps asking for prefab houses for the displaced, got told we can get them only for the refugees. I'm pissed off to no endn. Don't think that I blame the refugees - the fault of this mess is the corrupt, obtuse, inefficient system we live in.

I love all the cultures and especially foods in the USA. Life would suck without Italian, French, Spanish, Middle Eastern and Asian foods.

But you're right, there have always been some who looked down on new immigrants. Influxes of different nationalities - Irish, Italian, Eastern European, and Asian countries have had their turns at being discriminated against, often by people of their own ethnicity.

The only thing that I consider dangerous and unrealistic is open borders to the U. S. You can't have criminals and undesirables just walking into the country. What we need is a system that can process people more quickly and efficiently.

It's laughable when they start talking "immigrants" when in fact it's immigrants and slaves who have built most of what they enjoy, even to this day.

As for "anti-immigrant" it's usually insecurity and fear that they will be caught out and replaced as their forefathers did the Natives.

I usually laugh at such clowns and tell them straight that if an "immigrant" off the boat is coming to replace you, you weren't shit to begin with. You were just holding the place for them to do better.

As an Hispanic American yes I am. They are going to overpopulate our cities. More people more crime and less recourses. I think the government should close the border by providing military and more government officials and should add electric walls to have them from coming in. More south Americans then Mexicans are immigrating to the USA In big numbers. Mexican are the only minority

Nope. Countries should be selective about who they let into their country to match their labor needs. You need a balance of the right skill sets and age ranges to maintain a healthy economy. You also have to consider security threats.

My grandparents were all immigrants. They came over on a boat, had physical examinations, had sponsors and jobs and learned English and became citizens.

People have always been xenophobic. Different tribes of humans have always been in competition with other tribes, like many other animal species. It will never change no matter how much you think it should. This is just human nature.
