Another way of seeing it is poverty. You come into our country ileagally you do so with nothing you can't get a licence in some places, you cannot go to college, or get a job on most places.

I'm totally for immigration for a number of reasons: Britain has an aging population so immigration helps keep our country young Immigrants are actually really valuable to our workforce They bring over aspects of their culture with them which is interesting My grandparents came to the UK and helped contribute to our society, so why shouldn't others be given the same chance?
As for illegal immigration I think it needs to be treated like any other illegal act would. Go through the British Justice system. That way they'll have a chance to explain why they came illegally, because I think that's what we need to know: 'what is so bad in one's country that they would flee that country and risk being imprisoned in another country?' and then based on their reasoning we should decide whether we grant them asylum or deport them.

It not valuable for the work force BCS it lowers the minimum wage BCS of the abundance of workers so employers can go " this is your pay. If you don't like it someone will". Then today, I've had many foreign teachers, I've had some foreign doctors and nurses, my bus drivers are often foreign, some taxi drivers are foreign- I could go on listing so much more.
If these people are willing to contribute to our society, then shouldn't we be grateful?
What they do is come in and lower wages and take jobs that belong to the citizens preventing them from making a living supporting themselves and their own families. I know this well from living in the US, I was cheated out of life by this, lost my career, wasn't able to have the family I wanted.
I watched a documentary on the poverty in England, those poor children living with nothing to eat and living in poison mold in slums, I was bawling. That's what you produce when you invite others to take your own citizens livelihood.
@ThisAndThat The poverty in the UK has nothing to do with the immigrants coming it- what it has to do with is the government making cuts- I have been affected by these cuts myself, and am currently fighting against them- not blaming other people who want to work in our society too.
An employer will not favour anyone based on where they are from, but who is best for the job. They make a living which they put back into the economy simuntaneously having to deal with people who hold such horrid prejudices such as yourself.
I don't know where you're getting your information from, but don't kid yourself. Immigrants have everything to do with it. Not including my own horrible experience from it here in the US, the documentary I told you about, those children on empty stomachs, their parents were desperate to find jobs, any jobs, jobs that immigrants took from them. Until you've actually had that experience and believe me I have I've had a life long suffering from it and the suffering continues and will until the day I'm gone. It has destroyed my life and you're getting this from somebody that has been directly effected from it. I'm telling you this from personal experience very personal experience.
I'm not against legal immigration, but I am against illegal immigration because you get a lot of poor people, but a lot of criminals too. How do you tell the difference? Plus if they don't have a job they are just going to wind up as more homeless on the streets or turn to prostitution or crime. Plus here they usually don't have car insurance and live 20 to a house, if they even have a house. There are a lot of people that are legal citizens, like elderly or even homeless vets who get less help than illegal immigrants. You feel sorry for them but we can't take care of everyone while the people in their home countries keep pumping out babies they can't take care of so try to come here. No, clean up your own messes like I do. If I can't pay my bills I don't go to the rich and ask them to do it or take care of me.

I'm pro regulated legal immigration, but against illegal and think illegal immigrants should be deported.
It's because of taking too many in would affect the economy negatively because of more people means more resources needed. There's more people to educate, house etc. In addition it takes long time to learn a new language, culture etc. Getting used to each others cultures also takes time, so it's another reason it should be taken slowly.
I'm for controlled legal immigration. Often what some argue for uncontrolled immigration is used for in countries with falling birth rates and aging populations is to make up a difference in the population decline like in Germany or Britain but what they don't mention is that the reason there is a falling birth rate and an aging population is that people are taxed to heavily and wages are too low so they can't start a family until later in life and can only have 1 or 2 kids and more importantly uncontrolled immigration lowers wages and living standards. Americas immigration policy espicially with Africa and the middle East is a proven success as we only take in the best which is why we have so many middle eastern and African doctors and other high end proffessional while Europe is filled with crime ridden ghettos where immigrants are shoved into.
I think the migration of peoples needs to be heavily restricted world wide, the less movement the more stable the world would be. I hate when people say "Legal immigration" is ok, when the legality of immigration in the USA is barely enforced and the legal immigration system is broken.

Legal immigration to america is fine. Illegal immigration ruins the country. Having people come illegally, making money under the table tax free, and sending that money out of the country where that currency has more value is bad. That means less income for states across the country to improve and update roads, run down houses and businesses, and so many other things that tax money is used for. On top of that the illegal immigrants take jobs of others who also need jobs, but won't get hired because immigrants are cheaper. Illegal immigrants do nothing to help improve the country their working in and instead send money out of the country.

Yes, I know many enter the country illegally to escape horrible situations outside the country, but you have to do it legally. Not only do they make more money by doing so, but their income becomes taxable which means their still contributing.
I am pro legal immigration. I believe all illegal immigrants should be deported promptly to their appropriate countries of origin. Come through the front door if you want to come in. I'm sick of people working for slave wages and devaluing the work for other people that legally live here, on top of sanding what little they get back to their countries while the country they work in receives nothing in return since they don't pay taxes. If employers did not have the option to pay slave wages then everyone would be paid fair wage for the work they do. The issue that is created by illegal immigrants does not just impact other legal citizens, it impacts them to, maybe more so than anyone else. They should come in the right way so the system can function properly as it was intended to.

I’m tolerant of immigrants in my country, but there are many who do themselves no favours when they seem unwilling to speak our English language and it drives me mad. It makes me feel like I’M the immigrant when I’m at work or I take a walk & I’m surround by the Polish language, Arabic language, Spanish, etc etc.
I’ve gotten into hot water at work because of miscommunications, and because I’m the employee, I’ll get the blame from my immigrant managers. I miss the Ireland I spent my early childhood in where most people were Irish & therefore everyone understood each other & I actually felt right at home 😖🇮🇪
Of course I know and work with many immigrants who speak excellent English, and because of their friendliness, I’m glad to have them here obviously. But there are others who are here strictly for employment but refuse to adapt to our culture, and that makes them a stain on the window of our country 😒
I definitively agree that assimilation is an issue. Some people adapt so easily but some want to move to another country and change that country’s language and culture into theirs. That is just crazy.
I'm an immigrant from Bolivia. I'm for legal immigration. I don't blame people for wanting to come to US, but I don't like the idea that they jumped the line and snuck their way in. There's no vetting process. If you want a better life, great, use the door.
I like the idea of LEGAL Immigration, especially from Asia to the United States, but I think Illegal Immigrants should be deported ASAP, even if they do not otherwise have a criminal record, and they should be fined $500 a head for paying some of the overhead of processing and handling their cases.
My country should probably increase skilled immigration rates.

Not having a land border with a poorer country puts us in a different position from some other countries so I recognize they face more difficult decisions than we do here.
There is a trend of migration to Europe. The borders are open the birth rates are below replacement rate. A culture is tied to ethnicity. Somalians, Turks or Moroccans won't build new cathedrals nor Kaizer Palasts, nor will they give us any Beethovens or Rembrandts. According to the UN human rights conventions every people has the right to self determination which includes to limit legal migration and to reject illegal migration. Therefore I see no other solution to establish a trend of remigration (voluntary return) after the borders are closed.

Agree. In the U. S. A. I support amnesty for those who crime was over staying their Visa or entering illegally. However, they must pay a $ 7,000 to 10,000 penalty fine and be on probation for a decade.
I think we should deport all the people who are working to bring more immigrants into the country against the will of everyday citizens and signing them up for free housing and benefits while there are millions of homeless veterans living out on the street that NOBODY is taking care of.

And no, I do not desire for all to be deported. There is a legal system that judges whether their application for asylum is legitimate or not, as there are plenty of cases where asylum ought to be granted.
The problem is that the netherlands can't handle that, we don't have houses left, the roads are full, and most importantly these people are incompatible with our culture so this would pan out long term in a big civil conflict where the end result will be a radical mass deportation before its to late trough extreme party's. I much rather avoid all that by adopting the same system we have for the jobless. Yes you get tempoary support but you are forced to apply for citizenship in the other safe countries and once accepted you are deported to that country. If none accept we deport to a safe country in the region of origin.
You can't integrate people with alternative main cultures because they think their culture is superior. Only people with sub cultures will integrate which is why you need to block those with alternative main cultures from becoming citizens like any sane nation would do. Once this base becomes large enough to threaten the democratic votes of the native population and it becomes deportation or an islamic nation with less liberty i am quite confident mass deportation wins. So you aren't doing anyone any favors by letting it continue to the point of collapse.

I support legal immigration. We have a large homeless population, and many are military vets. I feel like we should be taking care of those people before allowing people to freely come across the border (illegal) to take advantage of free healthcare and housing as proposed by liberals. There's nothing wrong or racist about taking care of your own citizens first.

As long as it is legal, I'm okay with it but if they do it illegally, then I'm against it. Things should be done the proper way if you want to integrate your life in our American country and not originally from here. You behave and respect the way we welcome you in or you leave.
Personally, I think bullets are cheaper than deportation. They know what they get into, they know it's illegal, they know they will get caught, they know their life will likely be miserable and that they contribute to a global problem. I don't have the patience nor do I want to deal with the hassle around this issue.

I am for immigration the legal way through a legitimate government agency. I am against breaking the law to enter a country. If you have to run and hide from the police, 10 to 1, you're doing something illegal.

Moreover, I stand firm with having all illegal aliens deported especially those that come from 3rd world countries and that are a financial burden on the system, also their people and native country have shown throughout history they are a threat to the country and its citizens they are illegally residing in.
