Are racists 100% racist at the target race?

Are racists constantly 100% hateful against the group they hate? Or are they “racist in context”?

The guy below is getting interrogated by a black detective who he’s being 100% respectful to. The interrogation is about him gunning down a car full of unarmed black kids who he says are gangsta killers about to end him.

Could he respect the black detective as an equal and still be 100% racist against the black kids?

How do we know if his reaction towards those kids in the car had anything to do with racism? It's totally normal to feel comfortable with one person but not the other regardless of race, sex, etc. When riding a train or bus I can look at one person and see them as a normal loyal person and look at the one next to them and see them as a potential threat. Recognizing threats is a normal part of being human.

Racism is not an internally consistent worldview.

It's a coping mechanism for ego threats.

Cops are massive ego threats, so without a lot of self-control induced by fear, it's kinda hard. But there are examples.

I think sometimes it's more of a subtle racism, like a bias, I don't even think some people think of it as racism. They look at a group of people of a certain race or ethnicity and sometimes can't relate or understand cultrual differences and respond hatefully, rather than empathetically.

True. And if you watch this guy’s interrogation you see how he expects to walk right out of the police station after. Its white man’s expectations.

Same for cops who think they can shoot blacks in the back.

@oddbeme Yeah, exactly, they have preconcieved idea in their head of that person based on their race, so somehow they find a way to justify their actions. Crazy how they can think it's okay to shoot people in the back though.

Its a culture that teaches them consciously or sub, that they’ll more likely to get away with shooting blacks. Or pinning them down with your knee in their neck.
