He's done a great job of throwing money at the Saudis to do the same thing we could do but in a much less environmentally conscious manner, as well as greasing the palms of other countries like India to just act as middle men to buy Russian oil and resell to us while also emptying our emergency reserves and exporting the oil we produce ourselves to China, so not only are we unnecessarily back in the arms of the Saudis, we are now indirectly funding Russia's wars while also continuing to make our own inflation problems worse.

Once the pandemic hit hard, Trump was gone and Joey shut down the pipeline and gas went through the roof!! Now, YOU say gas was low because of the pandemic! Taxes, if I'm not mistaken, aren't directly controlled by the president- and the federal gas tax hasn't been changed in about 30 years regardless. So again, it seems like the president has pretty minimal control over gas prices. As for buying from other countries, gas in other countries is significantly more expensive than usual too- the current increase in gas prices is mostly due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which is again not something the president can exert direct control over.
