At what point should privacy be revoked?

A lot of people like their privacy, and rightfully so, but when should certain things be open to the public?

For example: A politician (regardless of any held belief or party affiliation). Should his/her email records be visible to the public, to ensure that illegal activities or communications are not happening? What about army generals?

Should all of their records be open to the public, should their be a special group dedicated to recording and analyzing all events, etc etc?

We know if we participate in the digital world that we are exposed to public scrutiny. People can buy your cell data and have access etc. It is unfair and upsets me as there is no more privacy in expression. It really boils down to how powerful you are or want to be…if you are not a threat to status quo then your Privacy is reserved.

I think its fine to at least have to share information that could prove you or someone else got an abortion while living somewere where abortions are illegal.
