Oh God the question that echoes in my head every day. Privacy doesn't exist anymore thanks to the government. But I do think it is a type of liberty, and essentially a human right when information is not being given consensually AND not supposed to be known by the public. I can't wait for Edward Snowden to come home someday but I doubt he ever will.

Not constitutionally, no. It’s one of those things that while it isn’t there, it’s kinda assumed that in certain places you have a right to expect privacy (like in a bathroom). But there is no constructional right to privacy, no!
it’s like “freedom of expression” there is no such thing, there are just too many things that a right to expression COULD mean! That’s why we have freedom of speech, because speech is speech! It cannot be confused with anything else. But one could say whatever you were doing was just you expressing yourself!

Of course not. When you are apart of a minority trying to establish totalitarian control over a society, you don't want folks to have privacy. Because you are always afraid they may hold different beliefs than what you have established as the mainstream.

Technically. They get around domestic surveillance laws by sending your data to another one of the five eyes countries to be analyzed there and vice versa.

I'm not in the US, but if memory serves well, it has been long gone since the early 2000's, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was even earlier.
