DeSantis would be my first choice. A no-nonsense, minimal theatrics, young leader who is willing to take a wrecking ball to the DC establishment is the minimum of what the country needs right now. He's also one of the only Republicans who actually takes the initiative rather than just being reactive, and even others who are ostensibly further to the right are hesitant to do much of anything unless someone else (usually DeSantis) does it first.

Trump is fine... But he's getting too old, he's energetic for his age but clearly not at the same level he was prior to 2016, and he still makes poor judgment of people he supports, which was a huge detriment to his administration. One would think he would've caught on to this, but evidently not.

That said, it's all but a guarantee that Trump is going to run at this point, and if that happens, DeSantis most likely won't challenge him. It would also be a waste to have him as Trump's VP pick because they both appeal to pretty much the same base (America-first Republicans and independents). Since he won't need to pander, and may even go out of his way to piss on the party elite, he would (hopefully) not let them force another Mike Pence type sock puppet on him either.

At trumps age, as well as being limited by constitutional law from running again, he can do what needs to be done and damn the consequences. That makes him very dangerous to thieves murderers tyrants and pedophiles that currently make up a large portion of the US government. The reason I don’t think DeSantis should oppose him, is because he isn’t going to beat Trump, but a personal war between them would destabilize and wound the party and leave a bad taste in voters’ mouths. Trump has proven that when he assigns a label to somebody, that label sticks. Giving leftist challengers ammunition would not be a good plan. DeSantis has a bright and long future ahead of him. Trump however does not after the 24 to 28 term. An acceptable compromise would be three DeSantis terms in the White House: one as trumps vice president, and two as president. This is probably the best outcome.

I cannot in good conscience vote for anything with an R next to it on the ballot.
This is because of the current push by Republicans to undermine free and fair elections and silence the vote of millions of Americans all across the country. They have control of a majority of state houses and are using this edge to implement all sorts of vote suppressing / manipulating laws to tilt the table as far in their favor as possible.
This mid-term there is a huge push to elect as many Republican Secretaries of State as possible, reason being that they are the ones who cerify the election, so if the R's don't like the results that official could simply refuse to certify the results much as they wanted Pence to try and do in 2020... in this way they could almost guarantee that they will never again lose an election where that situation exists.
It's a dangerous time for this country for those that hope to have any voice in their governance moving forward.

Desantis isn't the type to rush into stuff. I'm not convinced he will even run for president. He's young for a president too. Most are around 55 so he can wait 1-2 more election cycles before running for President. Becoming president is a dead end for your political career. You can't be President and then go down to Governor level so you wouldn't want to do it when you're younger IF you like that career.

In the primary there is no way in hell I'd vote for Trump. Whether or not I'd vote for DeSantis depends on who else is running and a lot of other factors. If those two were the only candidates I'd vote for DeSantis even though I'm not thrilled about him. But realistically it's way too early to decide something like that.

In the general election I'd vote for anyone who wasn't a liberal.

I'm voting for DeSantis. Trump had his time, and wasted too much of it combating every gnat that nipped at him on Twitter. He took everything personal instead of focusing on governing- DeSantis has done far better, and actually has stood up to Critical Race Theory/ Gender Theory, and made laws against it (e. g. Stop Woke Act). Meanwhile Trump was too little too late. CRT/ Gender theory are more dangerous to the country than Russia/ China/ Covid/ and Climate change.

I am tired of Trump and never liked his personality or character. DeSantis seems like a strong candidate who thinks positive and knows what he's doing. And DeSantis is looking forward while Trump is still focused on 2020. So I am voting for DeSantis or whichever Republican candidate wins the primary.

DeSantis. Although a much more conservative person, he won't divide America and its voting bases as much like Trump has continuously done. Biden divided Americans too, but more so the economy; he led us into a recession.
