I went to catholic schools & the rare atheist who attended was treated like everybody else. Nobody hated them. They would leave the school once they realized they wouldn't get the confrontation that they apparently needed (or their parents wanted) to prove some kind of point. So eh.

And if I had to bet money on humanity, I don't see Atheist leading anybody anywhere. We have a long history of people believing in God or other spiritual things, building civilizations and making them last for thousands of years.

I don't hate them since there are few that I respect, but I certainly don't agree with them... because just like a lot of religious people, a lot of athiests are not very open minded. And there's an arrogance to them, how they can be so certain that there isn't some higher power out there when we don't actually have any way of knowing if there is or not. Their default state is:

"if I no see it, it no exist! And if it do exist, why it do nothing?"

Some of these athiests were actually once religious themselves. Whether it be a bad family experience, a bad religious experience, a bad interpretation of the Bible, or that they were expelled from their church that their views on religion were shifted... all of these are fair reasons to detest religion, but they are very shallow reasons to dismiss the possibility of there being a higher power.

Do you believe the Universe is self-eternal as Einstein once thought and stephen Hawking tried to resurrect that claim? It's not. It's been known since Hubble's Law was discovered that the Universe is past finite.

Do you believe the Universe popped into existence from nothing for no reason whatsoever? That's preposterous and violates ordinary logic. Everything with a finite existence must have a cause, so what caused the Big Bang?

Do not try the idiotic "who created God" argument. A self-eternal being does not need a Creator of its own.

No one believes that the universe came from nothing. Even Steven Hawking said so. I quote:
"There was never a Big Bang that produced something from nothing. It just seemed that way from mankind's perspective"
While the universe as we know it didn't exist before the big bang, doesn't mean that nothing existed before the big bang.

I don't know, I think it's the other way around. Anytime I see public posts about religion on social media, there are atheists that troll and just talk smack about religion. Unprovoked hate, I've never understood why.
I have a few very close friends that are atheists, we have never butted heads over religion.

But I'm a Christian that absolutely loves science. I believe both can exist. I do hear Catholics can be pretty over the top and harsh. I wish we could all just mind our own business and beliefs and let the ones who think and believe differently alone. I mean, it doesn't effect me that some of my friends don't believe in God and I don't try to change their minds.
