What are Taiwan's chances of defeating China without any help from US?

Without US Navy , there is 0% chance Taiwan can best China. I don;t think Taiwan will even try to.

60% or more chance. And here is why.

1. China's army is weak. Expensive, but weak. Untested too. The entire Chinese military is a paper tiger: looks strong but is useless. Also, their stuff is Made in China, so there's that too.

2. The Chinese hate their own government and have little patriotism to defend China.

3. Most Chinese soldiers are not volunteers and thus, don't even want to be there.

4. China's going through a population decline right now, especially since they used to abort baby girls and so, many families only have a single boy as their offspring. Going to war and losing them means losing their lineage (which is a BIG deal in Asian countries).

5. Chinese soldiers would be fighting for nothing basically, as most Chinese citizens don't care about Taiwan anyway. They care about having food on their plate and money in their wallet, which the CCP denies them.

6. The Art of War says "appear strong when you are weak, and appear weak when you are strong." China does nothing but "appear strong" despite being cowards to even India.

7. Morale is half of everything in war (the other half is supply lines). The Chinese people have no morale to go to war, like I said, while the Taiwanese are willing to die in war to protect their homeland. Just look at Ukraine and Russia right now; same thing. Most of the Russian soldiers didn't want to go to war either, but Putin made them.

8. If China attacks Taiwan, that will give the green light for the US and other countries to go heavy on their asses, as the US and others won't "fight a war for no reason." Again, morale being everything. But if innocent Taiwanese are dying by bully China, then yes, that is a valid reason to go to war. The US doesn't have to directly help, but everyone else could.

So yes, Taiwan is stronger than people think. And China is far, fa, FAR weaker than people think! The only reason they even still have Communism is due to corporate dickheads betraying their country for Chinese money. China talks a big game, but they're extremely weak and their soldiers mostly hate the Chinese government.

Hmm.. Probably 80% or more. Basically, China is in an economic crater right now and their military is more for indoctrinating their own people and sing songs rather than launch one of the most demanding military operations in human history AKA a naval invasion.

At the very minimum I would say China needs 500 000 troops to even consider occupying Taiwan, preferably considerably more. What is likely to happen however is that China managed to capture some of the remote islands but can't land troops on the Taiwan mainland fast enough with enough support to sustain an invasion and therefore will result in a stalemate where neither side can reach the other and launch a proper invasion.

If you think Taiwan is like ukraine that is wrong because they show how they military power. China just fly around everyday but taiwanese crashed many times and that bought from USA. China mostly make weapon by their own. Dont need to much money.
