That's almost never done in the US, unless the people come from another country and continue the tradition here.

With immigrants those sorts of things don't usually last more than a couple of generations or so. After that most people have lost most traditions from their homelands, including their native language. There are some exceptions though, like when large numbers of immigrants live in an area and have their own micro society.
