+1 yi can only guess around 80k. this might depend though upon the social kickbacks, what's more relevant is after tax "Benefit"... this one way the govt levels the playing field. by benefit I mean as well cost of health care since ACA (obamacare)... e. g. when I wasn't making much the govt paid for a lot of it whereas others pay for all of theirs.

$5,000? That's impossible. You can't pay rent.

Even if you own your own home you still have to pay property taxes. And unless you live in a Shaq that can get pretty stiff. Do you walk everywhere? You have to have a car in most places. How about health insurance? Do you like eating? We only mentioned rent because it's the biggest cost you're going to incur. But far from the only.

I have personally known people who have lived off of 5k for a year. The at rice and beans (and were healthy), and everywhere they drove to was nearby. Property tax is not much where we live, and first time homeowners are eligible for tax cuts. Once you make under a certain amount the government covers your health insurance.

@LazerBean You can't JUST eat rice and beans. You have to have some vegetables as well.
- +1 y
No, but rice and beans was by far their main meal. Which is common in many countries. Having a garden helps. This is an incredibly westernized mindset though, honestly. A large percentage of the world is being sustained on rice and beans/vegetables. It's not sustainable by most western lifestyles, but it would surprise you the amount of people in rural America who are living off-grid and self sustained.

None is giving you Muricans 100 to 200 grand looks a year, never mind bucks a year.

Fair it just seems it’s getting harder and harder to afford to get out of Washington state to a more conservatives state. Figured I would need to make at least 100,000 to go anywhere (The reason I say fuck Idaho is because it’s one of four states that doesn’t have any form of legal marijuana)

@Stoner710 Just get a place on Stateline Rd, and walk across the street if you want to burn one.

+1 yA living wage is $30,000. If you want to have luxuries, it will cost you more. But most people can live a very comfortable life with $30,000 a year. (Unless they grew up spoiled.)

i did grow up spoiled my dad worked in the nuclear industry was making around 200,000
i just notice everything is getting majorly expensive, i would never live in seattle but you need at least 400,000 a year to live there at this point if you live on a town like mine probably about 20,000-30,000 but lot of farmers and not many women unless you want to date someone with kids which i don't want to do i have 4 rules
no liberals
no christian
no kids
no fat women - +1 y
@Stoner710 You don't want to date city chicks, either. They're all trash.
- +1 y
Here is my advice for you, personally. Live in a small town between major cities. That way you still have plenty of people around, but you won't pay as much.
- +1 y
For example, I personally live between 2 major metropolitan areas and one medium-sized city.

Oh, word? I know where The Dalles is. I used to know a girl who lived there. She was my coworker.

Seattle is expensive, but you don't need $400K/year to live nicely. Figure $2500/month for a nice one bedroom apartment. Everything else is about the same as anywhere except restaurant meals, which are about 20% more than Dallas. Gasoline is also a bit high but many people live in the city without a car.

I know where Bellevue is. It's a bit more expensive than Seattle, but not much more. I don't know if rents are higher. Bellevue seems a bit boring -- just a big mall and a bunch of strip malls. It's not walkable like Seattle, and there's not much live entertainment. In Seattle there are many clubs with live music almost every night.

@slatyb single guy probably 30k yea because I said you have (in my case a place that allow a golden retriever) and TV Xbox live and power it's not to bad
family which I wish to have at some point probably by the time I'm 35 so got about 6 year talking something different.
of course unless you paid me 1m a month i wouldn't live in seattle. I remember going there as a kid is a beautiful city there weren't needles in human fecal matter on the streets there's trees pigeons and I love museums I love to go to the museums now it's looks worse than hell.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 y80,000 and up if you make that you'll be ok. Anything under that you'll struggle.
10 Reply18.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I read from economists minimum wage should be $32 based on inflation.
04 Reply- +1 y
True minimum wage in my state is 14.49$. It’s hard for those in eastern Washington because most people are farmers on the east side so unfortunately there not much opportunities for people on the east side because minimum wage is so high it’s a good wage on the east side living wage on the east side for a family of 4 you probably could get away with 75K Got over to the west side with bellevue in Seattle seattle probably 150k. Bellevue is more like 500k-1M
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yOn the avg. 69k but it really depends on where you live.
00 ReplyMy friend, you are dreaming.
01 Reply3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Good luck with finding that amount!

@Stoner710. If you are looking for 200K wages. That is $100 per hour per a 40 hour week. Not including benefits. Now you are up around $200 per hour.
If you live where you can make that kind of money. Usually the cost of living will eat those waged up and look for more!
What skills do you have that someone would be willing to pay you that kind of money for? - +1 y
Writer knowable of history and politics due to biological monther abuse I never got rid of the shake in my hands so I suck at wear housing and construction jobs she pretty much fucked me for line when it comes to physical labor. But I refuse to go on disability because my brain still works
