What does money mean to you?
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt means absolutely nothing to me, money is nothing but human imagination, money = greed , and power that can turn deadly, just look at the 20 year war that was literally started because of Petrodollar and using 9/11 as an excuse. 9/11 in itself created many wealthy people… Larry Silverstein made 3x the worth of the World Trade Center complex after the attacks. Goes to show how greed can cause evil. $2.3 trillion missing in spending transactions through the DOD and pentagon, was announced the day before 9/11 on national television, and was quickly buried. That would have been the biggest news of governmental corruption in the country, and yet it wasn’t brought up ever again…..

+1 yWhat a great question!
For me, money is a means to an end. It is a tool. I do however believe that time is more valuable than money.
I also believe that interdependent, complementary social relationships that contain trust are an extremely valuable currency.
I never worry about money. I make do with what I have. Sometimes I have plenty and other times I have less and there have been times not enough.
I do believe that money can be a curse when a person is a) preoccupied with acquiring it and b) will do anything to get it.
True richness is contentment of the heart and being able to sleep well at night.

Thanks for the compliment :) means a lot. I love to create good content as best as I possibly can.
You have quoted a meaningful line: "For me, money is a means to an end. It is a tool. I do however believe that time is more valuable than money."
Time is more valuable than money... and so is health!

This is also a good mindset what you have, that you worry not so much about money. Because once you do, you'll lose your personality, your friends and completely change as an individual.
Those who use their big savings, money as a tool to inflate their happiness and try to make others jealous on purpose are one hell of losers in my brutally honest opinion. They are the ones with terrible insecurities, personal issues/problems and countless other things. - +1 y
You're welcome. And yes you can tell a lot about how a person ticks by how they use their money.

+1 yMoney means stability. I've worked hard to have the work-study-life balance that I have. I work so I can afford my tuition and my lifestyle. I study so I can eventually make even more money. And I like to live a little. I'm lucky enough that I can afford my mortgage, bills and tuition all without assistance. I have 2 roommates and my boyfriend living with me which has helped me increase my overall savings and has let me delve in to investing.
Long story short, money is a necessity11 Reply- +1 y

Like me... when I enter the mall and see all the fast food chains... I think about buying myself a big chicken teriyaki sandwich from subway with chipotle southwest sauce on top of it 🥴 and the thing is, I still can't have enough.

Well I hate money, money is just damn paper, but if I need it to eat to live and to have a roof over my head then so be it otherwise I'd just be like "fuck money" because I don't see why we couldn't find a better way to split food and gas and other things between people equally or at least in a better way than now.

+1 yIt's nice to have so I can pay bills, buy food, and go shopping. I don't need all the money in the world, just enough to pay off my car, buy a house, take a few vacations every now and then, and save for my family/baby. That probably still requires a lot though. I would say 1 or 2 million would be enough to sustain. Then maybe I could invest it into some type organization that helps people and the animal kingdom.

People don't love money itself. They could have all the money ever but if the things that's bought with it disappeared forever, people could care less about it cause in the end it would just be useless green paper with no value.
1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I prefer a balance. If you spend all of your time working as hard as you can to make as much as possible, your life likely sucks and you can't enjoy it. If you work very little your free time likely sucks.
Ideally I'd like to have enough to live, plus save $500 per month and have $500 per month spending/entertainment money. That would be ideal in my opinion.

+1 yMoney is just a tool to be used in life, not something to be pursued above all else. It is rather meaningless because it cannot bring you or loved ones back from the dead. Money does make some parts of life easier, but it is meaningless in the things that really matter.

It's a very useful tool that I want more of to help not only myself, but my community. It is an equalizer of power in a Capitalist society.10 Reply The world revolves around money. It's a ball and chain that dictates where you live and if you eat that night. You work for it the majority of your life only to give it away.
