I will explain. Because Republicans tend go for the majority rather than the minority. This executive order (which might actually be illegal by the way) by Biden does more harm than good. The amount of people who have SLD (Student Loan Debt) is relatively small. But this ruling will impact every American regardless if they never took out a loan, paid it in full, or still in debt. And since there are significantly more people who don't have SLD, this hurts majority of the population. You should also think about this way: Imagine that you never took out a loan and paid for college on your own. Great. And suddenly you are forced to pay for other people. Will you be happy? No. Next, what if you took out a loan and paid everything back. And suddenly you are forced to pay for other people. Will you be happy? No. Another thought that might enter your head is "Damn, I should've waited until this ruling". And that leads to another question. Will this be a one-time thing or happen every x amount of years? People in the future might see this "One Time" forgiveness unfair and demand their loans be forgiven. Understand what I'm trying to say? This SLD forgiveness is not as simple as it sounds. You need to break it down into pieces to really understand how it works. I suggest listening to credible and low biased podcasts or reading think tanks which do a good job at explaining these things. What I mentioned above I heard on the WSJ Potomac Watch podcast. It was mentioned in others as well.

The reason why the Republicans are bitching is because most of them didn’t go to college or they already have paid off their student loans which makes them suckers which makes anyone who did not go to college a sucker which makes me a sucker because I worked from 18 to 24 to get enough money so I did not have to do take out student loans and get my degree. But now I’m paying for the douche bag in California who got his degree in lesbian dance theory. This is why student loan forgiveness is stupid also we live on a system of debit and credit if you cannot pay off your loans your debit and credit goes down as well as the price of tuition goes up the government subsidizes. You now $7500 to buy an electric vehicle they will pay you to buy an electric vehicle so what did the electrical vehicle car companies do like Teslin Ford they were surprised by $8000 so now how people are going to afford electric car as well and that’s what Democrats want everyone in the United States to buy the same thing goes for college.

I don't know what the answer is. Nations need some form of government to provide basic services form people and these governments need leaders. In a monarchy somebody is born into the position. Nobody is really represented with this system. Having elected officials provides people with a voice in their government. The founding fathers created the Constitution and Bill of Rights to try and keep any one person or group from having ultimate power over everyone. It is called checks and balances. It is not perfect but it has worked for many years. The internet and technology has changed things however. The big tech companies are near monopolies and between the media and the tech giants they have been able to gain so much influence over Americans that they will be hard to stop.
