Are bandaid companies racist for just now making black skin tone bandaids?

Bandaids suck. I started using the spray-on stuff years ago, and it's just so much better - stings a bit at first (so maybe not ideal for small children), but you can just spray it on and never have to worry about it falling off when wet, or sticking to the wound, or needing to be reapplied or removed later, etc. It's also transparent, so doesn't matter if you're white, black or green.

There is nothing structurally different about a different pigmented product, so I don't understand the resistance. If anything it opens up a new demographic for the business who might have preferenced other products due to existing brand loyalties or financial factors.

Nope. The Black dude in the tweet is a racist, because he's obsessed with the color of a band-aid. His Black supremacy ideas lead him to believe a tan colored band-aid is inferior to his skin color because it more closely resembles White people. He hates tan band-aids because he hates White people.

I think the answer is not a simply yes or no. I've noticed many white people don't really pay attention or notice when they are excluding black people. I can't say they are racist but clearly they don't think about such things.

I don't think so. I never even thought of bandaids as being skin colored. Way too orange for my skintone. It would be racist if they made a variety of bandaid colors only for white skintones.

Band-aids are meant to be discreet. Designing them for more skin tones allows them to be effective and discreet on customers who aren't Caucasian.
