On one hand, Stalin was a Left-wing communist and Hitler a Right-wing Nazi. However, many of their policies were the same. Examples include putting people innocent people in internment camps, denying free elections, condemning capitalism and expansionist foreign policies.

Hitler was a communist before he got disenchanted by globalism and became a national socialist. Both ideologies are socialism. Both are left wing authoritarianism. The main difference between Nazism and Soviet Socialism was that the latter socialized men based on class, and the former socialized men by race.

Actually, Nazism is NATIONAL SOCIALISM. Making it as extreme left as you can get. Communism is left-leaning, too. The most extreme right you can get is Anarchism.

It doesn't matter though; they were both murderous tyrants. And some of the world leaders of today are really no different except they hide it much, MUCH better. (Kinda.)

Both very similar in how they got power and how they maintained it. Differences too such Hitler empowered the army over it political paramilitary wing the SA whereas political commissars where ever present watching the red army. Hitler also set up competing political and security agencies that kept each other too bust cutting each other's throats for Hitler's favour.

You and all people like you need to get it straight. Nazi means National Socialist German Workers Party. They are socialists on the left they are not right wing. Some dictators in South America like Juan Peron were right wing. But there aren't any of those around now.

Lets see they both did and believed a lot of the same things for a lot of the same reasons. Both were socialist, one just officially rejected the idea of nationalism while both rejected it implicitly with their efforts to conquer other nations.

Hitler wanted to rule the world and rid it of unwanted races and religions. Stalin wanted communism within Russia. He did not want to expand, nor did he approve of genocide. Although he wanted to rule with a very hard fist!

Of course Stalin wanted to expand. He tried to take over Eastern Europe. And Stalin wanted to get rid of certain groups too, such as the bourgeoisie class. And Stalin wanted to get rid of religious groups too, such as the clergy.
