Have Americans been starved of a good strong leader and lower leaders for a long time that they don't know what a good leader actually looks like?

Why is it that people put soo much faith in the idea of "good leadership"?
As if good leaderships were something we could consistently obtain, and yet never have in the past regular.
Why would you think that there is even such a thing as "Good leadership" rather than it being subjective to the values, and needs of the person soo labeling it? This is after all the contradictory point of view of most on most American leadership.
The main problem with relying upon such "Good leadership" to save you is not merely that its rare. But the power necessary to do so would invariably be missuses more often by "bad leadership".
As almost every complex system or thing can be broken with but a few alterations, the potential harm of "bad leadership" is vastly more consequential than the potential benefit of the occupational "good leadership".
is more likely to do harm than good given the nature of success being built upon a great many good choices, and the absence of any one of them can collapse everything.
Logically therefore it makes far more sense to put your faith in systems that limit and constrain men to debate and compete not the judgement of any one man or group.
Good leadership is doing the right thing, following and applying the law constantly, putting the country first, being of honest and integrity character.
@hispanic-cool-guy What you think is "the right thing" is usually not what many if not most other people think is the "right thing" and even more unusually is even the "practical thing".
We judge leaders from 1000 miles away with no idea what options they have or can see. They likewise judge us and the situation we see on the ground from 1000 miles away and can see about as little of the options and truth of the situation.
Its quite impossible for them to see much-less identify "the right thing" from such a distance.
It is far more important that you design the system by which their choices are limited to only dealing with the issues they can well enough see, then somehow finding a man with super vision, good luck, strong moral code, and Good judgement.
We may agree on the need to check all theses boxes today but really that is itself the problem of why we almost never get good leadership and never will because its quite unlikely we could check such boxes.
Instead it is vital for good goverment that you design a localized system that does not have to have leaders who need to check so many boxes.
I described what the "right thing" is. Putting the country first, apply the law, honest and integrity.
Only a bad moral person will disagree those standards are bad.
The problem is democracy is very inefficient 🤣. Change happens slowly and there is a lot of bureaucracy. I don't think America has been starved for good leaders so much as the powers that be have little reason to affect any REAL change. A congressman can cut enough deals that marginally help the American people while securing a enough donations to keep him/her in office for decades. Which is the drive I think for most of congress. Congress is the check and balance to the president and with congress generally impeding that (except in the rare cases when the sitting president has a mandate). And we have seen even then not much still gets done. So that's why we see most by executive order. Which is NOT what it was intended for.
All one needs to do is look at the history of impeachment attempts and actual impeachments in recent history vs. The history of the POTUS and it's pretty common place now when it used to be a rarity before. There has ALWAYS been division there hasalways been party's but thier used to be enough respect for compromise.

A leader for the People has not been the Same since 1960s. When government took over all Government systems. Before Unions, Baby boomers (WW1/2 War generations) were alive, Education Republic not communism, no deficit, etc. —now Government deficits, Government pays the people in many forms through Welfare State.
We the People is fractured focused on Self rather than the Nation and it’s Security economically, within and outside of borders militarily etc…
Aproper understanding of history, societal functioning, Govt forms on people and Business etc are required.
”Good Leader Crap” is simply 💩 in our national structured economy, social values, and religious values. It’s going to take a Wall Street crash and hostile Nations takeover of our economy, Global currency loss. and/or a World War before there’s even a hope of a good leader being effective. But that too will be Self and individually motivated rather than best for Nation…
The fact that US citizens still consider elected officials to be “leaders” is a big part of the problem. These people are public servants. WE hire THEM to do a job. If they don’t do that job, we hire someone else. They are NOT leaders. They are NOT bosses. They are NOT in charge. Some of us still know what that looks like. Until the majority of US voters catch up, we’re going to keep on choosing “the lesser evil”.
They are leaders we elect. We give them the right and privilege to lead our nation.
Corporations run America. The leader is a puppet in a hat. He will never go agaisnt the intersts of those who hold all the power I. E. all the money
We had great leaders , Reagan and Trump. You will never like any person that is President. You are one of the always complaining type of people.

Pretty much. He’s made no secret of his support for socialism in the past
Yes, and this is because a good strong leader would be a threat to the oligarchy that inhabits the shell of the republic.
I guess if that's the case, then Canada, Europe and Australia have a lot of work to do as well.
People voted for morons like Trump. No wonder the country is still in a mess.
As ''Americans'' are SO! individual and resourceful... I wonder what they need a ''leader'' for?
Our government is not our leaders. They are our representatives. Free people don't need leaders.
Yes they do. Government officials are leaders to lead the nation.
You may want to brush up on your constitution, bud.
If you want a leader, look at DeSantis.
If you want a leader, look at Donald Trump, instead of a follower like Ron Desantis who bases his politics on whatever the other guy does
@WhiteBoyChill lmao. How can you be so dumb?
Because that’s literally what the guy is. He’s literally just a con artist trying to steal Trump’s own movement
@WhiteBoyChill bahaha. You know florida is the best state in the country right now and trump pushed those poison covid shots, right?
Gee well I haven’t seen anything reputable suggesting they’re filled with poison.
I only didn’t get them because I prefer natural immunity
@WhiteBoyChill tell that to the athletes who are dropping dead of strokes.
He’s good as governor sure but we don’t need him to be President when we can have Trump again
That’s only because its not fully researched and is experimental. Conversely there are some people who have had no issues since getting the vax
@WhiteBoyChill so, poison.
To declare something poison it would have to be unsafe for every person, which doesn’t appear to be the case so far. But who knows, maybe people will get this intense skin rash or something else in 30 years
@WhiteBoyChill lmao, so you just make up your own definition? I didn’t know you were a pharma cock sucker.
Again, if you have the sources to prove its harmful to every person, be my guest. But I don’t think some random guy on Facebook can be considered credible
@WhiteBoyChill that is your definition that it has to be harmful to every person, not mine. How do Pfizer’s balls taste?
no, it's just that the digital age shines too much light on leaders so none of them look like what your ideal is... they never did. but now you can see them online 24/7
I think the pickings are just really slim.
That’s bullshit. We literally had Trump 3 years ago
Yeah sure. A good and decent leader he was. 👌
Exactly right. I get that you’re being sarcastic but we actually had a roaring economy back then and people were comparatively better off aside from their poor little hurt feelings
The economy was absolutely spinning out of control (1 million jobs lost a month) prior to Barack Obama took office.
During Obama's 8 years the economy had nowhere to go but up and it did.
Trump assumed office with a good and rebounding economy after the disaster it suffered under Bush Jr.
Ah yes. So its a mere coincidence that the job growth accelerated even more after Trump’s new economic policies
It would have happened under Obama. He just had to go because his term was finished.
Obama's policies lifted up the economy back on its feet.
You’re living in a dystopian reality. There were noticeable changes in the economic growth when Trump took over.
For the mega rich, sure.
For everybody. I know a number of people who were looking at really good retirements with their 401ks
Nope. Trump is the God Emperor.
For about 18 months, yes
