If a christian man is allowed to audition for a part, but a jewish man isn't, is that illegal?

i have reason to believe that, even if men had been allowed to audition at all, that, if they were allowing men to audition but ONLY christian men could, that, that is a form of anti-semitism. is this then, illegal?

That depends on enormously on WHERE; the world doesn't have only one legal jurisdiction. Here in the US, yes, that would be illegal.

It would NOT, however, be anti-Semitism; Semites are a *linguistic* group, not a religious or ethnic one.

Production teams get artistic license to cast whomever they want, using whatever criteria they choose. Otherwise, how would casting key roles for Hamilton go to people of color playing white historic figures (and the off-broadway casting call specifically says no white people)?
For the 2021 remake of West Side Story, Spielberg insisted that the Sharks be played only by members of the hispanic community.
Producers, directors, and casting directors are king. They make their choices, they live with the consequences. They're the ones footing the bill.

"I believe" isn't going to cut it.

Casting choices boil down to who is right for the part, not always who is best qualified. A lot of qualified singers, dancers, and actors get cut from auditions because they aren't what the director is looking for.

If you want to accuse your high school of sexism, racism, anti-semitism, whatever, then take it up with them. But you haven't written anything that would support it.
