Why we seek validation?

When you seek validation it's because the ego wants love and attention from external individuals, even when it is still very much in love with itself. It hungers to be worshipped and acknowledged like a deity, but has no interest in ever giving love or acknowledgment back to the people it wants to be worshipped by.
