Visa, Mastercard, Amex to Track Gun Shops With New Merchant Code to inform government? What can you do about that?

It's part of the feds attempting to hamstring the Second Amendment. But yesterday an insufferable gun totin' NRA lovin' Redneck (like me) told me the way to keep the plastic merchants from tracking your gun purchase is to first buy a postal money order for the purchase amount of your AR15, cash it at your bank buy that scary intimating assault weapon with CASH. Sure, the government can track you other ways but the corrupt banks won't be able to. Gotta control the move to a cashless world.

Why are you so scared to have the government know you have a gun, especially an AR-15. Why do you feel you have to own it in secrecy. You "insufferable gun totin' NRA lovin' Rednecks" are so proud of your guns, you love to show them off, tell people about them, push for open carry rules so everyone will know you have one but all of a sudden, you're scared to death of the government knowing you have it so you're willing to do a series of transactions that would make a contortionist jealous just so they can't find out.

And if your answer is "the government's comin' to take all our gunz, that's why", I'll laugh at you even harder than I'm already laughing about how proud you are of your marital arrangement.

And for the record, there should be a law in every state, city, municipality and town that guns cannot be purchased with cash unless a genuine photo id is produced and copies of it taken and sent to... the government.

Just use cash for your purchases, then. Problem is whenever you use a card be it credit or debit it creates an online footprint and it shows up on statements for reference.

I get your concerns, though. Essentially now with buying a gun, you are almost asking to be out on a watch list regardless of a spotless record or intending to use it for defense, sport and recreation, etc.

Im not into guns but i also always use cash. And if i HAVE to use a card, i use a disposable one like a gift card or something that i can load without attaching an account to it. I dont trust cards
