I think the US should split into and have the Conservative states and the Socialist states of America. There is too much of a divide today. One side trying to arrest all on the other side. One side calling the other side terrorists. Neither agrees with the other on any issues and where the country needs to go. So, it is best to part ways.

The problem you would inevitably run into with splitting up the US on political lines is that the states as a whole do not actually swing hard in one direction or the other; when you look at voting districts, the real disconnect is between major cities, and everyone else. Austin Texas is just as dark blue as Los Angeles, and rural California is about as conservative as a DFW suburb more often than not.

I'm acutely aware of the concept of "moving," but I'm also aware of the fundamental differences in values that come with city life versus small town, suburban and rural lifestyles.
