Different metrics for happiness I believe, a guy in Saudi Arabia or take khabib nurmagomedov such people would be happy just being around their families and eating and having a roof over their heads, better sense of community and society, even the guy who doesn't give a shit about any of these will simply live like it, he'll just go get drunk get a prostitute go back home and barely talk to his wife, contentment from small things is happiness, in the west people want that constant high they call happiness, I post a pic because I need likes I smoke weed because I woke up stressed about the fact I didn't study for my exam, I ended up not studying but at least I'm not stressed now🤦🏻‍♂️, constant need for attention fearing social interactions and anything along those lines, all the while having no sense of society as well as a lot of division, I'd be unhappy too, I've seen other people saying it's jobs or whatever, unless you're a doctor or live in Japan that ain't the reason, imagine the reason why you're unhappy for life is because in case you hypothetically get pregnant you won't get maternity leave😂😂or imagine a farmer in fuckin Egypt listening to you talking about your hard job behind a desk...

In poor countries people there don't have time to sit around and worry about silly stuff because their minds are on constant survival and food to eat.

In rich countries with a lot of rich people and good money making population with a lot of resources and success often times people take their blessings for granted and have a lot of time to spare and get involved with alcohol, drugs, sitting around eating junk food and non productive lifestyle which leads to depression.

I guess that it's because in rich countries people value more material things. They also spend more time working which makes them spend less time with family and friends. They also don't have time to rest or to have fun.

Whereas in poorer countries people don't have money to buy material assets, they just want to have a roof over their head, food and water. They also appreciate more their family and have more time to be with them.

Constantly working even on holidays and weekends Individuals being overworked and in some cases overworked and not enough pay. Not spending time with family and friends. No leave and with leave you'll be punished and they'll be repercussions. Take a sick day you may lose or job of not. Maternity leave you'll be fired depending the company.

you can't really just sit at the comfort of your privileged life and feel bad about yourself " oh why, why!! I have everything yet I am not happy at all "

in poor countries, you just have to get out and solve problems every, single, day... and every little free time, you get wasted and have some fun being entertained with sports, TV or whatever...

depressed and privileged gives you plenty of time to dwell

depressed and poor give you not much time to feel bad about shit, you gotta grind and earn that living, even if it's bad living... and with the bad living, you get perspective, every little thing and break you get... you can try and enjoy it and make the most of it

but, when you're depressed and have more privileges, then you can feel worse every day because all of that might bring you even more guilt... lol

the pressure of expectation can also give you tremendous amounts of stress... you are in the best countries in the world, with access to pretty much every help you could get, and yet... it's not working out for you, and you're not making enough to get better either

Well, I would think that there are folks in richer countries who are still happy. It is just that we are all told that we are unhappy unless we have a lot of stuff, a lot of glamour and a lot of fame, etc.

It is hard to feel fulfilled if you think everything that will make you happy is external. You never focus on developing yourself. But there is a reason why we are told this constantly.

Fulfilled folks don't consume as much.

Sort of yeah. Scandinavian nations are known for being happy places, but they also have very high suicide rates due to weather related vitamin deficiencies worsening depression

Based on research I read about job satisfaction among different careers, I believe hard work and charity make people happy, not comfort or pleasure, since rich people have that and are ending their lives.

Because when you're Uber poor you're just worrying about what to eat. When you're well fed and well healed financially you start grouping people into classes of how much they have and start judging eachother.
