No. A realist. The Royals are born to lead. All their lives (save for when they're babies/toddlers), they're brought up knowing they could lead the country. They get prepared for this. All from a very young age.

Your average politician hasn't been spending their whole life being prepared to lead a country. They go to university to get a political degree, and spend a few years working for a 'party' and decide to stand for election. during the campaign, they promise all sorts of stuff. Then, once elected, they govern like a left wing nutjob. That's all they know.

@msc545. IMHO only about 2% - 3% of the population has the intellect and drive to lead others in a meaningful way, and a much smaller % has the ability to lead on a large scale. Which is why we differentiate between a "politician" and a "statesman". As for what is best for the people, well the people have no idea what is best for them overall. The system we have now of government handouts in exchange for votes (both parties do this), is clearly not sustainable and the cracks are showing. Sometimes the people need to be told "no".
