Combined, this all makes Putin look like a saint in comparison, though he's far from it.

As a European (and citizen of the country Orban's leading, Hungary) I'm getting confused about the terms "Left and Right" here. First of all, due all respect, I don't think one should call a third-world country a shithole, regardless how poor standards there are. Yes, poverty's peeking, yet I think it is OK just to simply say "no" to them. That's why I criticize Orban's politics: no need to start a hatred campaign, it should be OK just to simply claim that home citizens' priorities are higher than sudden hordes of immigrants, no matter how hungry they are. Also, even before the Ukraine war he has been doing russia-friendly politics, business with them etc... not to mention internal corruption. Man, if you heard about internal affairs and inflation (even before ukraine war) here. It seems as if he was a political proxy to forward Putin's wishes into the EU (just like Erdogan opposing Finland into NATO). So in all, in my opinion Orban is doing okay-ish, though I would say he's far to be "true-right".

I can only guess it was the European requirement to take in people and have open borders, socialism that crushes those who work hard and creates unfairness to them and continued failed politics and financials. It's easy for migrants to steal food, invade homes and take wealth from people... they don't like that. People are taxed and it they know they are being ripped off.
